Do i need a camping pass if my buddy has one?

I am confused as to how the camping pass works. Does everyone need one or does only one person in a group need a camping pass? I would greatly appreciate some clarification into that matter, thank you.

everyone camping needs a pass, as explained on the website and ticketmaster page that you purchase tickets from. :)
