I got mine today. It's all about festivals. Still lots about coachella and the headliners. totally useless info, but fun to read. check it out.

aaaaand, a little fashion spread about how to rock out in style. whatever. Don't spend $200 for a flimsy grunge outfit. silly designers.

Spin and Vibe magazines are owned by the same company. I still think the best music magazines are magnet, Under the Radar, Filter, NME and the Sentimentalist.

from what you've told us Ken, I didn't think you had much use for your testicles.

I dip my "guys" in Magic Shell every morning.
Not to protect them or anything, but it does have that beneficial side effect.

Did Spin have a Coachella party this year? I have heard nothing about it, unlike the Filter party.

I guess Spin ended up not having a party this year.

Spin magazine is proving to be consistently the worst magazine ever. Every cover of the ones I've received has been a photograph of 3-6 guys standing in a line, with one of them doing something slightly different than all the others.

Spin puts Fall Out Boy on the cover at least twice a year, it seems.

I got a free subscription to SPIN from Vegoose. Anyone else?

I got an email offering a free sub. I deleted the email. Nothing is for free. I'd rather spoil myself occasionally and pick up Uncut mag in B&N.

Same here. I offered it to my boss to give to his son for Christmas, and based on his lack of enthusiasm, I reconsidered taking advantage of it myself. But based on the reviews, so to speak, of the magazine in this thread, maybe I'll find someone else to pass it off to.

Hahahha,

I signed up my friends for the magazine without asking them!

I left them messages, guess what...

Can't wait for the responses.

I got my four subscription codes from vegoose too awhile ago … I don’t know, I don’t think the mag sucks but then I don’t do much hard copy reading … and “nothing for free” … this is just a guess on my part, but in the past Denver used to have two daily newspapers and what they did was give away subscriptions so they could “by the numbers” have the largest advertising base … when someone made a big deal that a lot of the papers were free and shouldn’t count, they offered the daily paper for 5 cents a year … that way it was a paid subscription … its all in marketing I suppose … canx

Yeah, it really did seem to be free as long as it actually comes. All they asked for was your address. I'm sure the amount of junk mail will go up 3%...oh well.

I got Spin for a long time long ago...used to be decent, but got pretty shitty 6 or 7 years ago. Switched to Rolling Stone, because at least they occasionally have interesting articles and interviews along with their shitty music coverage. That ran out, and I don't really get anything now except for a ton of free video production related magazines.

And "Black Inches", of course. I used to get "Uncut" for a long time long ago, used to be decent, but got pretty shitty 6 or 7 years ago (no pun intended.) Switched to "Black Inches" because at least they occasionally have interesting articles and interviews along with their...

That was the same email I got for a free Spin subscription some time ago and it worked. It looks no different.

The only lame thing that they have changed is that you can only enter the first so many letters of your city name, including spaces. So if you live in a long named city you have to shorten it. Kinda lame.
