No, it should be in the FAQ that you are not allowed to bring flags into the festival.

Philthy

Why do people bring flags?? They're one of the most annoying things at a festival. People stood further back can't see because of you fuckers - and really....what is the point?

I'm sure you'll see a million of these anyways,

how about gas masks? are those allowed?

Momoschaf

I'm pretty sure they're not. Security takes away almost everything that you could hurt people with (or yourself). they take away cowbells. and i'm sure gas masks too...

Don't call it a flag, its your towel so you can sit on the ground or a way to protect you from the sun.

Philthy
01-25-2007, 01:16 AM
No.....just don't bring it in. They're annoying.

Flags are good for the campsite, helps to spot where your tent is alot easier, last year we went to Download festival, we had some guys put up a NO EMOS flag near our tent, was awesome!

Leave the flags back at your campsite - nobody wants them getting in their way at the show.

How can a "gas mask" hurt anyone? I'm taking mine. Better be safe than sorry.

bring your gasmask and make up some bullshit excuse from your doctor. even write a little note if you can saying your allergic to cigarette smoke or some shit. i see nothing about not being able to bring in a gasmask.

Mr.Nipples
01-31-2007, 04:04 PM

this just in: flags are not towels.

they said no flags, they said yes to towels.
the fact that you think you could simply refer to your flag (remember, no flags) as a towel to try and get it in makes my head hurt.

Google might help if you're unfamiliar with these items or anything else on the forbidden items list.

I'm taking a camelbak. I do believe that the rule is in place to avoid FULL camelbaks from coming in ... but what the fuck is the difference if I bring in an empty one. I'm bringing one in, and if the fascist security have a problem with it, I'm putting on my gas mask and starting it off early.

No flags, but some Wolfmother/Strokes wannabe looking asshole with a fucked up afro and oversized sunglasses can stand in front of me? Ah well, with any luck, RATM will burn a 50ft. flag anyway.

gasmasks, I'd consider them to be on the same line as gimp masks. Unless biological warfare is happening, in which case they are OK.

I can see why flags on sticks would be banned as sticks could be used as weapons (and they also block views!) but can we not bring just material flags in? Would like to support a few bands from home by maybe hanging my flag over barriers at the front so wouldn't be blocking anyones view. I could also use it for shade. Do you think that would be allowed?
