View Full Version : We're in the midst of a Kenado

Everyone duck and cover. Things will settle down again soon.

EDIT: It should say "a Kenado". Implying that Ken is in the midst of one of his bump-fests, which is like a tornado.

And I don't think ducking and covering in a tornado is effective. Or is it? I've never been in one. I just know that you duck and cover in earthquakes. Which is what we have here.

EDIT: there, fixed for you, andrew ;)

No, in a lightning storm you're supposed to climb an oil derrick. For an earthquake you are supposed to throw yourself out the nearest picture window.

Yeah, it's a lightning storm. Actually, metal poles (or metal trees) are even better because I think the metal deflects the lightning bolts or something.

You know, kind of how the metal on the Tesla Coil stops the bolts from hurting us?

We want them to know that they are in our hearts. We are trying to do what we can to. Fix any damage that the Kenado has caused. We realize that the Kenado has become a hotspot for al-Qaida. The best place to be during a lightning storm is the worst place to be for an earthquake, and vice-versa.

If an earthquake hits, you want to be in an open, treeless field, which is exactly where you DON'T want to be during a lightning storm.

You want to be indoors during a lightning storm, which is where you DON'T want to be during an earthquake.

I am harmless, as those who really know me can attest to. I have never even been in a fight before.

I don't think you're trying to be annoying, Ken. But you are being annoying.

The old threads are of topics that interest me and deserve new replies.

They don't deserve new replies especially if you're going to add a one-line near-non-sequiter.

And the only reason there're interesting old topics is because at one time the board was peaceful - or at least readable - enough for us to have conversations.

I think all of us can add something to this board by occassionally bumping a thread.

There's nothing wrong with occasionally bumping a thread. You don't do it occasionally, you do it every time you're here. And you bump many threads.

There are some people here that bother me because they're mean... but that's OK, I can put them on ignore. They're mean but they're not disrespectful to the operations of the board.

You're being disrepsectful to the normal operations of the board. Pay closer attention to the current topics of conversation more. Try responding in an extended, coherent linear way.

I don't see how you are entertained by dropping one liners about bands and people you like and/or unrelated bands and people you don't like.

We'll stop having every thread be about you (and how annoyed/mad/etc) people are at you when you are no longer the only subject we can focus on; when you start playing nice.

Now, Ken, please, re-read this post. I don't mind if you post here if you're gonna be a reasonable guy about it. But the way you're going about it; you're hurting this board, you're hurting Coachella, you're hurting alternative and indie rock, you're hurting the Strokes, for crying out loud.

Won't somebody think of the Strokes!?!!?!

1. Ken is bumping shit to be annoying. period.

I do a combination of word searches, going backwards, picking random page numbers and other criteria. I only pick topics that I think others will post in, not just myself. It is easier to use a previous thread than to create a new one.

Not a problem. If you were stuck in this clinical trial and not able to go outside, you would do anything not to get bored. I watched a documentary on VH1 Classic on the history of rock narrated by Dennis Hopper. Part 6 was on American alternative rock and part 7 was on British indie rock and brit-pop. In other words, I do other things here, in addition to the blood draws, blood pressure checks and the crappy food that they feed me. I also love to type, and this keeps my hand eye coordiantion in top shape.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty sailing man,
The skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.

The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligans Isle.

So this is the talel of the castways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The first mate and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the tropic island nest.

No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primative as can be.

So join us here each week my freinds,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castways,
Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
