full on idle
04-21-2007, 01:08 AM
Say you're
One man's taste
Want what? Fall and break
We've seen the dream folks
In our day
What?
Fought the Father, the Pope
Finally sent away

Warden!
Lock it!
Free love's
Fought our battles through the day
We were full on idle
A lot of them say
Obey
Your colorist
Bleach it all away

Free reign!
Good rest!
Break!
Every brunette in the way
We were full on idle
A lot of them say
Obey
Your violence
It's kinda late
Say! You're!
One man's date
Want what?
Fall and break
We were full on idle
A lot of them say
Obey your violence
Look close!
Hate!
Tide all white
Row!
On the glass surf
He pulled the paddle
It's okay with me

What I'd like to do
With your violin
And it's bow

I hope Andrew gets harshed by Gabe for this thread as hard as I did when I made it a year ago but I know he won't.

All that I am.

I AM: The thing you’ll find you’re missing when you needed it most; your dreams as you open your eyes to the morning light; the path that you never took; that look in your eye; angel wings; forgotten memory; lost and in need of direction; missing someone i’ve yet to meet; the child of my mother; the key to the lock on the door; all that could have been; nothing and never will be; all that was and will be; a child’s laughter; the answer that escapes you; the sunset from the horizon; high tide; the golden spiral; broken; full of hope; a daydreamer; a writer; a fool; wishing she still loved me; often laughing; adventurous and risk taking; bored and waiting for something to happen; thinking about quitting my job; going places; wondering what would kerouac do; on vacation in two days; thankful for all my friends; soft touch/caress; a part of something greater than myself; going to go smoke a cigarette.

My microcommunity name is AntiClutch, but I couldn't figure out how to change this name to that one. AntiClutch is because when I play tennis in real life and various video games, I always seem to choke when it matters.

I first got an email address when some weirdo put his email address on my car. So when I went to the college "computer lab," and I was creating my first username, I thought I had to create a name that was alphabetical (I seriously doubt this was the actual case; I'm generally really bad at reading comprehension).

So my name is Amy, and I added the zzz to remain alphabetical. I think the username had to be at least 4 characters long, but I thought 3 z's went well with the 3 letters in my name.

I had a 3 month summer affair with the email address guy. What can I say? He had red hair, which I adore.

I agree 200%, especially when you take into account how the majority of his other works relate to Roland's quest for the tower at the nexus of all existence, by direct reference or through character crossover. I have a BS of English and my favorite works are by a genre writer. Obtuse, huh?

Yeah, I have my BA in English. I guess Stephen King would be my favorite horror writer. My husband is currently re-reading Insomnia after The Dark Tower (the last book) told him to read it. He is enjoying it a lot more now since he has tried psychedelics. We both adore Stephen King.

rampaige
04-21-2007, 08:33 AM
My name is Paige. My nickname in college was "rage", a sort of joke because I hardly ever get pissed and I am quite laidback. Rage morphed into Rampaige, which fit well cause it encompassed my actual name. Now I use it for pretty much everything...email, blog, myspace, etc. When rampaige is already taken, I use rampaige33 because 33 is my favorite number, in part to the Smashing Pumpkins being my favorite band from back in the day.

Tygerlady

I've been using my sn since 1990...it's been a long time so I think that was the year. I chose it because I was going through a divorce at the time and that's how I felt about myself & the situation of now being left with 4 young children to raise by myself. When describing a woman...she's either a tiger...or a lady....and I am both.
Being active during the Women's Rights movement of the early 70's.. "I am woman hear me roar" is the verse of one of my favorite songs by Helen Reddy.

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

CHORUS
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman

You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul

CHORUS

I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand

Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong

I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman

Alchemy
04-21-2007, 05:29 PM
I was True Chemistry on the old board. It went through a change in the new board.

Alchemy is what would become chemistry. It is now considered a psuedo-science, and a bunch of quackery. However, it was alchemists who discovered a lot of the things we know in chemistry, and they decided to transcend from philosophies and spirituality to become something more physical and scientific. So in a way, the true chemistry was alchemy, since alchemy came first.

And the truth about what a true dork Jamie is finally comes out...

So among many things, I will admit to being a huge Tolkien fan, and back in Jr. High when I had some free time I actually taught myself quite a bit of Quenya, (which, for those of you who arn't down with the uber geek talk, is one of the languages of the Elves of Middle Earth). Roughly translated in to Quenya , my name, (Jamie, the fem. version of James) is Encaitare. It's pronounced "En-kay-tar-ay" with the enphasis on the second syllable.

Bartleby the Scrivener: A Story of Wallstreet. One of my favorite quotes came from that story, "Ah, happiness courts the light, so we deem the world is gay; but misery hides aloof, so we deem that misery there is none."

All that I am.

I AM: The thing youíll find youíre missing when you needed it most; your dreams as you open your eyes to the morning light; the path that you never took; that look in your eye; angel wings; forgotten memory; lost and in need of direction; missing someone iíve yet to meet; the child of my mother; the key to the lock on the door; all that could have been; nothing and never will be; all that was and will be; a childís laughter; the answer that escapes you; the sunset from the horizon; high tide; the golden spiral; broken; full of hope; a daydreamer; a writer; a fool; wishing she still loved me; often laughing; adventurous and risk taking; bored and waiting for something to happen; thinking about quitting my job; going places; wondering what would kerouac do; on vacation in two days; thankful for all my friends; soft touch/caress; a part of something greater than myself; going to go smoke a cigarette.

We have a lot in common, that's a lot like what I wrote in my personal statement when I applied to UCSC.....I like it!

1. Ophthalmology. pertaining to or having myopia; nearsighted.

Jacked from the shit-hot Daedelus album that came out last year. Not at all original but that's what I was listening to when I realized the old board was being replaced.

Someone on another thread said my handle sounded like an emo band name. Uhh, what?

it is the funniest name for lady parts that i have ever heard in my life, i started laughing hysterically the first time i heard it (of course i was drunk @ the time)...everytime i type it or say it it brings a smile to my face, and it is usually good for getting a laugh out of people, especially drunk people

I like it, because it was the ultrasound where my wife and I found out the sex - a boy. Our last one was kind of creepy; we could see his face/skull. It kind of looked like a Luchedore (sp?), yet, was kind of cool that you could see his face.

FatBastard - This has been a subconscious nickname to myself. I was a size 28 in high school. I’m now a size 38. I have never seen Austin Powers. No idea one of the characters had this name until I tried to create a Blogger account.
