I know a few people have mentioned it already...but nevertheless...reply if you agree that enough of us would like to see Portishead! maybe it's a possiblity since they're releasing a new album this year, not sure when tho.

Others i'd like to see...

PJ Harvey, Leftfield, ...chemical brothers and the prodigy in the tent Again! and it just occured to me that lords of acid and kmfdm would be pretty awesome as well.

Is anybody into Cerati? i know it's spanish...but hey...if we're gonna listen to Gotan Project play musica Argentina, surely Cerati would be perfect!! and then we've got j. venegas and manu chau!

much love,

:)

I would love to see Poritshead and PJ Harvey...those would be some nice adds. But, I think they still need to add some to the Sahara tent -> Underworld, Aphex Twin, The Orb, etc...

Yes...I'm still hoping against hope for Portishead. I've been wanting them to play for the last 3 years....

Portishead would be a great addition to this already phenomenal line-up. Also, PJ Harvey is another long awaited act that has never touched the Polo Fields.

i think we should bombard portishead's message board and myspace page with demands that they play coachella. for free. for the rest of eternity.

Portishead would be mind blowing. I'd love to see Feist there as well. Not really a big fan of Gorillaz but their whole show seems terrific.

the more we post in this thread, the more gv and portishead realize how much we want them to play. Last year we thought we had them but this has to be the year. Keep reposting and lets hope!

I seriously thought Portishead was a sure bet, with them being in talks with their label, recording a new album, demos on the myspace, etc. etc. ohhh well.

Portishead. Give it to us... this is easily the most requested, talented, and available potential performer this year...

Somebody, somewhere, make it happen...

not happening

Well, if not at Coachella, then at Bonnaroo or something.

why? Every year this happens! Portishead Portishead Portishead
they can't be that interesting, can they?

If GV books them this year, then they won't have to endure another year of Portishead bitching from the people here .

And yes, I want them there this year.

A little iguana told me that Portishead, Radiohead, Talking Heads, and Big Head Todd & the Monsters featuring Head from Korn will be performing next year.

that's one heady brew!

Portishead would be excellent, as would PJ Harvey.

That said, one post on a message board is unlikely to change anything. And I think the lineup as-is is pretty phenomenal.

ThomThom
01-24-2007, 09:53 PM
Yeah damn good line up, but it seems like Saturday needs just one more little nudge and PORTISHEAD would be just that. So, on that note...

PORTISHEAD! PORTISHEAD! PORTISHEAD!

they can nudge RHCP off while they're at it. On second thought, at least it's not Oasis.

Gustavo Cerati would be great. A Soda Stereo Reunion would be even better. I'd go for Pj Harvey as well.

Portishead would be great. coachella however are not giving us what we want this year. theyre recycling old headliners. not that i have a problem with it....but yeah smashing pumkins & portishead would have been great

saturday is full people. If POrtishead got added on Sat there will be conflicts. What about Friday?? Its a very thin lineup and they could open for Bjork! They can share the Orchestra! HAHA.... But really, Goldenvoice You are bringing in RHCP for $$ and Rage for the people who complain about buying 3day passes ( generalization) do something for the folks who travel distances every year to be apart of the festival and attend every day. We are the ones that have been waiting for Portishead. WE LOVE COACHELLA>WE LOVE PORTISHEAD

...anyone remember waiting for the beastie boys to come out in 2003 and the sound guy suddenly put on elysium (..and no one's to blame/its just hypocrisy)? man, everyone in the crowd just went nuts...we all knew the words.

I've always been hoping for the Portishead/Tom Waits combo. That would be an incredible night of music.

I know a friend of...a key band member...and apparently Beth is the most difficult person in the world to work with. They've been talking about this 3rd album since 1999 and its just constantly on then off. of course, the tsunami benefit a few years back was promising....though I wonder if GV missed its chance.

I think this is still very possible...Portishead would be amazing...though I still think any major additions will be to the Sahara tent...look for some dance/electronic artist to be added.....
