How much money should I expect to expend in the festival for the 3 days. Including water fees, camping on site, food, restrooms use, etc etc

Last year, my brother and I dropped $60 on the first day just on Gatorade, Water, and a couple of fresh coconuts. No food. We didn't camp, so I can't speak to any of those costs. Our bag didn't get searched the first day, so the second day we brought in a ton of gatorade and water with us.

It's worth it to try to sneak in a backpack full of drinks and snacks, in my opinion. Even if you get caught by an overzealous security officer, I think it's worth the possibility of losing everything. Drinks and water are so damn expensive inside.

I thought the price wasn't that awful. Much better than I expected.

Carlitos:

Water - $2
Camping - $45
Food: $10-$15 for a full meal
Restrooms: Free

I usually drink 5-6 bottles of water per day. Others have reported drinking many more. Bet let's call that $12 per day for $36.
There are many food options inside the venue and will vary depending on how much you want to eat/snack/drink. $15 per day is a good, high guess. You can certainly eat for less if you get good meals before/after the festival. Also this is not counting alcohol. So $45.
In the past they've sold Heinekens (sp?) at $7 or $8 for 12 or 16 oz (I don't know, I've never bought alcohol inside.) So whatever.
There are no in/outs from the festival - even if you are camping on-site - so you can't eat the sandwiches you packed in the middle of the day but you can bring food for meals after and before the festival. There are also grocery stores in the area where you can puchase food.
If you're going to camp onsite you need to buy your camping pass beforehand. It will almost certainly sell out, probably before the tickets for the festival will.
You can also buy band t-shirts and such, they'll usually run $20 each or more.

So that adds up to $81 + camping fees (bought beforehand from Ticketmaster or another ticket outlet, somewhere around $50) + alcohol + merch + the food and other supplies you bring with you and/or buy at the grocery store.

1500 USD or 1500GBP? I am assuming USD cause I dont think you would take about $3,000 with you to coachella..

I am taking around 400 - 500 with me to spend...

There was a thread started a couple weeks ago where a lot of people listed their budgets. You might find it helpful: the budget thread (http://coachella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=982)

I have found $100 per day in the festival works out about right. You are there for 12 hours ,need a lot of water and food is about $8 for each smallish meal thing. And there is some alcohol to think about if you drink. We always have a big breakfast but with all the dancing and walking you will probably want 2 meals. Anyway --3to 4 of us every year have spent about $100 per day each. And if any $ is left over we buy t-shirts/sweatshirts.

$100/day is a good number if you don't plan on drinking alcohol.
$150-200/day if you plan on drinking and depending on your alcohol tolerance.

and unlike Europe, restrooms in the states are free...

ha. mini bottles are the way to go. you can buy a 8 or 10 pack at the abc store for really cheap. they are small, convenient, and real easy to hide. im walking up in there with big ass baggy pants filled with who knows what and then when i get inside i will strip to my underwear.

$200 spending cash should kepp you alive and happy for the weekend. You might have to sell your body for some drugs, but what-the-hell, thats part of the fun.
