I live about a mile from the empire polo club and drove by there today. Several of the merchandise/food tents are up and the frames for the Sahara, Mojave, and Gobi are also up. I feel so lucky to have this amazing event in my own backyard. It's finally here again...one week from tomorrow!

Ha! Ha! Me too (also in Target yesterday). I still need tent and all accessories needed to set it though. I spent $80 (including deodorant ;), Power Bar Protein, Red Bull etc etc...)

I thought it's weird to ask a salesperson about that travel size or sanitary paper you put in toilet bowl seat when you poo :D

Ugh, thats the crappy thing about camping. I have dropped SO much cash at target already!

I went to a 3day campout out by Angels Camp and blew about the same on a bunch of crap that I ended up leaving at the campsite. One of those things including an air mattress, which was amazing. I was in a drunken rage the morning we left, poison oak on my legs and whatnot. It was a disgustingly dirty weekend. I hate camping. I really do.

I am definitely bringing baby wipes this year. Anyone know a good brand of sweatproof sunscreen that smells good? Mine is Proactiv sunscreen (so I won't break out), but it is not sweatproof and it smells yucky.

Courtney

The Neutrogena Cooling Mist sunblock is excellent because there's no rubbing. And it's sweatproof.

amyzzz

That sounds great, but you would probably have to spray that on your hands to put it on your face, no? (don't want to spray anything in my eyes)

I just got,

Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer DryTouch Sunblock spf 45

and

Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion Face spf 30

Both were around $9 for a 3oz bottle, and are small enough to bring in the venue in your backpack.

Also they
-smell good
-non-greasy
-non-shiny
-oil-free
-waterproof
-sweatproof
-non pore clogging
-absorbs quickly
-light
-vitamins A, C, E, soy proteins, etc.....

I don't like that ultra sheer touch whatever shitty. It feels icky to me. I almost prefer the greasy stuff. I went with Courtney's suggestion: Neutrogena Cooling Mist Spray. I'll try that out this weekend.

But hey, Aveeno has sunscreen? I'll definitely have to check that one out. I love their hand lotions/body washes/etc.

Thank you!

I got a foam pad and a sleeping bag liner the other day. It will be too warm for a sleeping bag so the liner will be fine. Just need a tent fan now and some tees. I'm def getting excited now ! it's good to see the weather will be somewhat tolerable too .... projections are low to mid 90's which is ok.

AAAAAHHHHHHH FIVE DAYS!! I am flipping out. And I'm glad I read this thread, cause it reminded me of stuff I still need to get. I've been carefully making out my shopping list all morning while at work. Can anyone recommend a good clear deodorant that is actually clear and works? I have spent a small fortune trying to find genuinely "clear" deodorant.
