Choose the one that's simply 'Los Angeles'.

when you get off the bus, go north on oasis, left on miles, and a block away is a liquor store. then south on king, west on 48th, south on monroe, west on 51st.
to skip the liquor store -- south on oasis, west on 48th, south on monroe, west on 51st

The Indio bus station is a Greyhound stop, and gritty by nature - just look at who you are riding with. And, it IS a few blocks (in the direction you're walking) from the county jail. I still think it's a fairly safe walk during the day. This is a commercial area. I work just down the street, and this whiteboy feels comfortable riding a bicycle around town.

Indio is not a ghetto, it's agricultural and largely Hispanic. There are parts of Palm Springs that I wouldn't get out of my car, and I'm not talking White Party. I did a quick search on the word "ghetto", and guess what? You need to shut the hell up. Polo fields in the ghetto? (If you've got something to say, PM me so we don't highjack the thread).

when you get off the bus, go north on oasis... blah, blah, blah

Forget those directions! If you go South on Oasis, toward Highway 111 and the venue, there's a liquor store a couple of blocks down, with a cool 50's drive-thru thing going on. Right on Highway 111 and then follow the crowd.

For about 50 bucks you can get a connecting flight to Palm Springs.

I know this is deviating from the thread a bit, but on Google maps I'm showing a liquor store (Sherman's Liquor & Food Stores - 45820 Oasis St) very close to the Greyhound station. It looks like the one north of the station and away from the campgrounds is Quick & Easy - 82660 Miles Ave.

wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the rock... the indio bus station IS ghetto...the BUS STATION...a lot of Indio is ghetto too, though, haha. I worked as a social worker, living in coachella, and driving out to many areas in indio. plenty of places i felt a little wary going to at night. overall, the whole valley is pretty nice, it's working class, good people.

when i was a kid, we'd go to that liquor store, to get some chips and salsa.

Hey so instead of taking the bus my brother and I were thinking of getting a shuttle that takes us directly from LAX to the campsite ... depending on how many people we can get (up to 7 total) it would cost about $35 each. Anyone interested?
