Every single place I've tried has SUCKED ASS. It's fun to go out on the night before and have drinks, but not when there are a bunch of tools hanging out and lame karaoke and shit.
Is there anywhere laid back where Coachellers go to knock back some suds????!!!!!??? HELP! And don't say The Beer Hunter because I liked the name and tried it last year as a result...it was like drinking in an Applebee's.

well i like the yardhouse @ the river in rancho mirage they play good music (reggae & classic rock) but for some reason i think you might get an attack of "im in an applebees" because it is a chain... -shrugs- if you are just looking for a lil hole in the wall a lot-o-the homies drink at the sports shack in cat city on ramon rd. & date palm dr. but i think that is more because of the location than the atmosphere

there is a few downtown palm springs... The village pub is arguably the most popular. Hair of the dog and flahertys are both good ones too. the pub and flahertys have pool tables, gives you something to do. Yardhouse is a great choice too, huge selection of beers as well as mixed drinks, they have a patio outside to hang out at too.

The Village Pub is my favorite. Las Casuelas Terraza is also a great place to go. They have yummy margaritas. There is live music outdoors in the patio, under the palapas. If it gets too warm, they turn on the misters.
The Cliffhouse, in La Quinta, has a nice bar. It is one of my favorite restaurants.
Some of the casinos have live music. I think the Spa (downtown Palm Springs) and the Agua Caliente do. You could always call and ask.

if yous planning on staying til the end of the concert, as most folks do, you won't have heaps of time to hit the bars in palm springs, as last call in california is 1:30 to 2 am.

If you want to hit a bar near the festival, I once went to a hotel bar, on Highway 111, in Indio. Can't remember the name, but it had a locals feel to it. Cactus Jacks???? Something Jacks...I think.
Just looked it up. 82-347 Highway 111. It is Cactus Jacks.
