Hey
I would really like to talk with you
Girl
Do you have the time to stop
Say
All I wanna do is rock
If this was any other day
Id turn and walk the other way
But today
Ill stay
Not walk away
Hey
Im a foot without a sock
Without you
Love
You seem to work around the clock
Say
All I wanna do is rock
If this was any other day
Id turn and walk the other way
But today
Ill stay
Not walk
Just rock
Hey
Love
Say
All I wanna do is rock
If this was any other day
Id turn and walk the other way
But today
Ill stay
Okay

bballarl

Joe, just confirm you're going to be there to singalong. The cover band can be discussed in a new thread. I'll play guitar though.

I last saw Crowded House on their "Woodface" tour. School of Fish opened (if anyone remembers the song "Three Strange Days", that was School of Fish)...

I'll join in, but I sing badly.

bballarl
01-23-2007, 09:50 PM
Trey, don't worry, we're going to butcher the fuck out of the sing-alongs.

Don't try and resist Jeff, you know you want to join in.

You assclowns will do no such thing. That song, like all CH songs, deserves complete fuckin' silence from the lot o' yous. Reverence, cunts, reverence.

Would Neil break out some Split Enz songs?
I think at this point he's required to do that.

bballarl
01-24-2007, 11:22 AM
There is a falsetto utilized on the "dreaaaaaaaam" portion of "Don't dreaaaaaaam its oveeeeerrrrrrr". And I really like Crowded House. So don't step Yablo.

And complete silence? This is going to be a festival anthem. This is why we go to these things.

nothingman00
01-24-2007, 01:53 PM
Would Neil break out some Split Enz songs?

Regardless, I'll be singing the following:

"I don't know why sometimes I get frightened.
You can see my eyes and tell that I'm not lyyyy-in'."

Seriously, please break out "I Got You", Mr Finn ("and throw in "History Never Repeats")--only 2 Split Enz requests (and "poor Boy" if you get the chance)... Jesus, I'd almost rather have an entire Split Enz set than an entire Crowded House set.

Oh well, "World Where We Live" would be the shitty and a great singalong.

I've got a promo Crowded House CD that has all their hits and some live shizz on it. I'm gonna beg my husband to help me put it up here if anyone wants it.
Whaddaya think? Or if that's not PC enough, I could just put up the live part of it.

When I found my CD, my heart caught in my throat when I saw "Paul" scrawled on the front. I had forgotten that I got Paul's and Neil's autographs on this when I saw Crowded House at Hayden Square (Tempe, AZ) back in the 90's.

This was one of the only good videos on MTV when they were first on.Me and my other 16 year old friends would sit through the Billy Squier,J Geils,Toni Basil, and Night Ranger just to watch this or "Pretty In Pink"(BEFORE the movie,it was an awesome video) or "New Years Day" or "Clubland" or (I hate to admit) "I Want Candy"(the girl was sexy)

And, y'all noticed that I put a mix up there, too, right?

Yes, "I Got You" dominates. I had never seen that video, though. Nuttiness. For those unfamiliar with a song called "History Never Repeats"--also by Split Enz, I suggest checking it out. Great stuff.

That mix will be downloaded and on a CD here by the time the sun comes up tomorrow.

And I liked the "I Want Candy" video also. (and this probably belongs in the confessions thread, but, since Breakjaw name-dropped, I also liked the "When You Close Your Eyes" video by Night Ranger...)

"Do you climb into spaa-aa-aace?
To the world where you li-ive?
To the world where you live, oh oh?
To the world where you live, yeah yeah?"
And on and on...
Good god, I'm getting more and more pumped to see Crowded House. Completely caught me off guard. More than any other act this year, that was the biggest, "Wait a second, did I just see that right?" act of the year. So, so sweet.

Not sure...ironing board impression?

Nothing, I am with you. I can't wait to see these guys. I grew up a HUGE fan of theirs, and never had the chance to see them. "History..." was my fave Split Enz song. Fave CH song...that's tough, but I always liked "Into Temptation."

This is music of zenith that created such a Crowded House that the Sydney Opera House could not contain its excellence.

I believe I have created the greatest pun ever involving "Crowded House" and the "Sydney Opera House" and the former playing their "last" show at the latter.

nothingman00

Yeah, I think we're blurring the lines a little bit. While I *WISH* they'd play "I Got You", "History Never Repeats", and about every other Split Enz song out there, I don't think it's likely. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get "I Got You" to close off the set. But Crowded House released a healthy bit of material (far more than enough quality CH stuff to fill one set). Either way, anything with a Finn brother in it is good...

Im an aussie and we aussies love our crowded house. I saw tim and neil finn play at a waveaid (to raise money for the tsunami which happened a few years back now) and it was incredible. Every single person in the stadium was singing along to every fucking word. I dunno if u americans are as keen as that but i sure am! Vegemite for all!

The thought that keeps me up in the middle of the night is that Crowded House and Manu Chao will be playing at the same time. That would be a "Sophie's Choice" of Coachella if ever there was one.

I won't know what to do if Air and Crowded House play at the same time. I've seen CH live twice, but I haven't seen Air....
I might have to run back and forth between stages.

And if Infected Mushroom is playing during either of those bands, I'll be split apart from my husband cuz that's his must-see band. :(
