See: Madison Square Garden. I love Phoenix, but having them as the Saturday night headliner seem suspicious too me ;-) Just sayin

Yeah, 5 minutes of DP could happen but you'll never get 2006 again.

Confirmed. Daft punk will hold up cards in the background with lyrics so we can all sing along

It's not happening. When Daft Punk finally appears on the poster, I will be just as excited as everybody else, but every year this gets old. People were convinced they would come on with Kanye in 2011.

Enjoy what is probably the best undercard in years, and leave Daft Punk for the campground parties.

too many people, including myself, will be elsewhere when Phoenix is playing. i highly doubt it. and it would be a nightmare situation for so many to miss them if they did come.

Just out of curiosity, were you there in 2010 when they played? That was anything less then to many people not there.

Phoenix, the outdoor was the most crowded I've ever seen it for a band when they played.

But how great is it gonna be on the Polo fields come Thursday when you can start saying this out loud and get people to work themselves up over it.

if that's the case then who knows! i'm thinking of the amount of people at Radiohead last year, and i don't feel that Phoenix would grab as many people. But hey, anything could happen.

But that was two years ago when their album was at the height of popularity. Since then, they haven't done anything. Yes, a new album is on the way - but it's a pretty big gamble that the album will be successful. Does anyone remember the failure that was MGMT on the Outdoor in 2010. Sure their first album was a gem, but they only played off their second (flop) album. The crowd thinned out pretty quickly.

I remember being dragged to their set in 2010 and wound up being surprisingly really impressed with their performance and live energy. Will see again

THIS! Probably also because they played in the clusterfuckchella year. I remember wading through the crowd to get to Pavement for what seemed like forever.
