Hey everyone! This will be the third year I'm coming to Coachella... First year did lake eldorado, last year did Best Western nearby. This year it's just me and my sister and we are trying to keep costs down.. Managed to book Palm Springs motel 6 for a pretty decent price. Anyone have any experiences there?!

If you keep the gay speed freaks away from your manhole you should be alright.

Its my third year going as well, me and my gf stayed there last year only problem we had was one day parking was to full capacity and we had to ask manger if it was ok to park in handicap space but he had no problem with it. Good service and friendly staff. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to leave we were a bit rushed and missed parts of acts we wanted to see

Stayed there for about 6 hours on Sun night/Mon Morn before my flight left last year, camped in general pop for 3 nights before that. Small room, weak shower, and stinks like 10 zillion stale cigs, but after sleeping on the ground and going without a shower for almost 4 days it was absolute bliss. Something like $129 a night and that was on a "non-weekend night" so you can expect to pay well north of that. Which is still better than some things in the Palm Springs area. Good luck.

If you want to keep costs down why don't you camp?

Holding up pictures to one another may be more effective.

Which Motel 6? There are 2 in Palm Springs, 1 in North Palm Springs, 1 in Rancho Mirage, 1 in Palm Desert, and 1 in Indio. They vary quite a bit.

I camped in Eldorado the first year and to be honest the heat really got to me. My sister who is coming is a bit more sensitive to it, so we would rather spend the extra money to have a cool hotel room. Plus, being a fair skinned ginger girl.. camping in the heat...I'd turn into a pile of ash!

We booked north palm springs. Seems close to everything!

May seem that way, but the drive sucks at night, unless you are taking the shuttle.

I stay at the downtown Palm Springs every year. The positives are that it's pretty quiet at night (for me sleep is nice after a long day at the Polo Grounds), it's right near an IHOP, and most importantly it's cheap. The negatives are that it is a long drive at 1 in the morning (about 15 - 25 minutes or so and that's not counting how long it takes to get out of the parking lot sometimes).

Well, it's out of the way in terms of the hussle & bussle of Palm Springs. But with a car, it's not that far a drive. Yeah, 45 minutes+traffic to the venue, but it's I-10 instead of lots of side streets. Kinda windy. I'd hit it if I didn't live here. BTW - I take the shuttle. You may want to consider driving to a shuttle location and park. It's so much more stress free. A very convenient location for you, and just added to the Palm Springs line is Agua Caliente Casino. LOTS of safe, covered parking. It's off the I-10 at Bob Hope, in Rancho Mirage.
