View Full Version : Who From Coachella 2012 Is Likely to be there in 2013?

Just thinking about the Black Keys repeat from 2011 to 2012 -

With all of the speculation flying around of The Killers being in 2013, and rightfully so.....Just saw them last night at the Rose Garden (Portland, OR) with Tegan and Sara and M83. With Tegan and Sara likely on the bill as well as The Killers... Could M83 repeat 2013?

Who do you think will repeat?

My best guess is A$AP Rocky. His debut album will be released just before the festival, and at the end of his performance during Weekend-1 2012, he finished with "Love you Coachella, see you next year!" - Could he of already been booked over a year in advance of 2013? I think he is a likely repeat due to his growing popularity and album cuts starting to hit airwaves.

Thom Yorke and maybe Death Grips, Frank Ocean and The Vaccines.

12-06-2012, 12:41 PM
Kendrick Lamar
Frank Ocean
A$AP Rocky

All three artists will each have an entire album worth of fresh material since last Coachella, and they're the three most hyped artists in the Hip Hop/R&B world right now. I could see all three coming back, but at least one.

LOL at everyone saying Frank Ocean when I got so much shit for putting him on my fake poster. I had him pretty high up (either 2nd or 3rd line) and I'm sticking with it.

Hopefully there are no repeats from last year. There are way too many acts out there to have unnecessary repeats.

If i had to choose one it would be Godspeed You! Black Emperor. If only for it being the most insane sets i've ever heard. Although when Death Grips put out a new album it would be nice to have them back again, but it could wait another year.

Or, Modeselektor as part of Moderat.

Good to see the following three names come up a few times:

Frank Ocean
Kendrick Lamar
Death Grips

I reckon Flying Lotus with a new album out is pretty likely, his new show is meant to be bananas

Thom Yorke with Atoms for Peace

Those top three definitely make the most sense and I'd especially like to see Frank Ocean and Death Grips considering I missed them last year.

Frank Ocean seems very likely to me. I mean he'd be in Bon Iver's 2012 spot: 9:00 main stage on a Saturday night right before a headliner.

You really think that frank ocean would graduate to subheadliner just because he's this year's biggest buzz band?

If he comes back this year, I can't see him being any higher than 3rd line. Channel Orange was great but it's not moving him up to the Bon Iver slot.
