I just saw them at Warner Park on Sunday and I forgot what an amazing band they are. They also seem to be the band that time forgot. I remember in the early 1980's they were an ubiquitous presence on FM rock radio, now all anybody knows is White Rabbit/Somebody To Love and then the songs from Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas when they were reduced to just recording for the record company hit machine songwriters. But there are some amazing gems in the vast gulf between Surrealistic Pillow and Knee Deep In The Hoopla.

Come on people, let's hear it for the great Jefferson Starship!

Mickey Thomas is a Coachella Valley local. He sometimes performs for free here. There's no Jefferson Starship, Jefferson Airplane, or Starship, without Grace Slick.

Jefferson Airplane are the only thing that matters in this conversation. One of the best psychedelic bands ever.

Wasn't Freedom At Point Zero done sans Slick?

Oof. Ok, some Hossenfeffer has definitely been consumed there over time. The way she is eyeing Kantner there... he might look good in a dark gravy.
