^Hahaha

Seriously considering cutting out early sunday afternoon to drive from indio to LA to catch this gig. I was thinking of leaving early anyway to avoid the inevitable Rage rage and the traffic for Sunday night.

Make your judgement after the set times are out because if there are great bands performing during Rage you will be able to enjoy them with a smaller crowd and stuff, why would you want to miss that? Also is there any reason to miss them when they play their day at Coachella?

You'd have to leave by 4pm to have a chance of making it to LA in time. Might as well just get rid of the ticket.

^Yeah I know. My best friend who is only going to Saturday specifically to see Travis is gonna buy me a ticket for the Fonda gig and if it turns out that the bands I wanna see on Sunday (less than any of the other days) play before or around 4/5 then I am gonna try it, but if not then I am just gonna stick with Coachella and she can take her boyfriend. Either way. But seeing Travis at The Fonda is gonna be way better than at the festival. I can get closer and the set will prolly be longer. It all depends on the set times I guess. Maybe I should post a thread complaining about why they get posted so late. Hahaha, or not.

K sounds reasonable, what acts do you want to see on Sunday then? Yeah Travis will probably play like 30 - 40 mins longer in L.A. but worth the drive from Indio after the whole weekend and you are totally spent? You still gotta get cleaned up and get to the Fonda. And if you know the "secret" on getting in before the main line you are good, if not you will have a good spot just not the front as you so love to have for every show you go to.

Hahaha I think I know the secret, although I didn't use it when I say Keane there last summer and still ended up front row center.

As for sunday the acts I am most interested in seeing are:

Kaiser Chiefs
Damien Rice
Lily Allen (I could miss)
Amos Lee
Jose Gonzales
Kooks
CSS
Klaxons
Teddybears
Mando Diao

I think most of those might be earlier in the day, it's just Kaiser Chiefs and Damien that worry me. I've seen both before, but I am going with a friend who mostly is coming down from San Fran for the festival to hang out with me and see Damien, so it would not be cool to bail on her if that set ends up being after the four/five pm cutoff. That could be the deal breaker, like I said it al depends on the set times, so we shall see.

Oh and the drive is nothing, I've made simillar same day long drives across so Cal to make multiple gigs events. I can sleep/rest when I am dead. Hahaha, which might be soon if I keep going at this pace. ;P

It's not just the drive. You got the 100 mile walk back to your car and then lots of traffic.

Yes, I know, but in the middle of the day it shouldn't be too horrible, right?! Unless I'll have to swim through the masses of RATM only fans who'll be storming the entry gates at that point. Haha. I don't know, I always cut thigns like this close, but somehow I always seem to make it work.

See I could miss pretty much everyone, don't get me wrong though I really wanna see CSS, KC and Damien, but if it weren't for this conundrum about my friend from SF I would most likely sell the Sunday ticket all together. I don't know I just found out about this today, gotta call my friend and see how she reacts, maybe she won't care.

God I hate conflicts like this, why couldn't they have played on Monday night instead. :(

Sorry. Stay at Coach. You dont know what you will miss ya know? Its tough when bands end up booking these things and it runs with the festival you know? I think they will do another tour, these 2 extra shows are just because they are in Cali and nothing else. They are putting a new record out right?

Yeah I know that the most logical thing, but.... I want it all. *Pouty face*

Well I've got a month to work it all out, but you're right this might be too much of a stretch, even for me.

It is a stretch, trust me. I have been doing this a long time and you have to face the reality that it cant all work out logistically and this is one of those moments. I have some of those conflicts right now with shows conflicting and stuff, and my heart wants to do it but my brain is saying "dont or you will screw yourself over". Stick with Coachella, the original plan is usually the best plan. Dont give me the pouty face!! You make me wanna get all mushy. :( And name a girl who doesnt want it all? ;)

MusicIsMyBoyfriend

Hahaha, ok no more pouty face. I mean I know I'll have a blast no matter what happens, but staying at Coachella will definitely be less stressful/hectic. Not mention easier on my car which so does not need to accrue any more miles on it's already exhausted odometer.

suprefan

Alright!!!! Thats the spirit. Well I bet you are cute with the pouty face but stil. Yeah I just spent $1,000 on my car the other week to make sure it does not break this summer with all my driving to shows that I will be doing. And it just hit 100,000 miles and is barely 4 years old.

Oh crap you've got mine beat. It's a few months shy of four years and has about 75, 000 miles on it. But it's been acting up lately so actually been thinking bout trading it in for something new. But not before Coachella, hahaha don't wanna be driving a nice new shiny car into that dusty crazy mess.

I did, it was a must, my car was not even a month old when I took it to Indio in 2003. I took like 2 hours to clean it and wash it when I got back though. The crazy thing is that I have been in 2 accidents in the last year where my car was in the shop for a month each time so I wouldve had 100k probably at the begining of this year instead of 2 weeks ago. One of the times I took the rental car on a trip to SF and back because of a show.
