I remember getting early bird tix for 2011 in December but I don't know how I missed it for 2012.
How do I find out about early bird tickets for next year?

The pre-sale for 2012 tickets was for one week in June (?) of 2011... other than that, the remaining tickets went on sale in January when the lineup was released. There was no early bird discount this year.

yeah no discount and early June was the start of pre-sale I am not sure if travel packages were included in the pre-sale. I am going that route for 2013 for sure.

I think the announcement for the presale/layaway happened within 2 weeks of Stagecoach finishing, but my memory is usually pretty terrible.

Am I the only one that is scared that tickets to weekend 1 will sell out within a matter of hours on the first day of presale?

No, there are others like you out there.

I'm on their mailing list and got the email about the on-sale date last year.

we will all know the week before they go onsale.... my suggestion, start saving every penny now. You do not want to be one of those people left in the dust after they sell out in a day.

Terrified. But it should also be known I assume worst case scenario for just about everything automatically.

I'm hoping that we get at least a full day to buy for weekend one this June and weekend two will sell out by the end of the presale

From the glut of tickets the scalpers got burned by holding this year, I'm guessing it probably doesn't sell out in presale for 2013.

This makes me happy. Do you have any sources to back up this statement?

I would say looking at all the desperate face value or less all over these forums/craigslist/facebook is enough evidence to show the casual scalper got fucked for sure.

I would say if the festival does sell out: You better scalp that shit before mid march or you're just holding onto a cooling fire.

its already been stated on several occasions that there were enough people online at the time of regular sale to have sold tickets for 3 or 4 weekends of Coachella. 70% of tix went for weekend one before there was even a lineup.... if your thinking that it wont sell out presale then ur kidding yourself.

Can't us long-timers get some sort of guarantee?

Hopefully layaway is back this year. It was actually pleasant when they took the money out each month. Usually recurring fees are a thorn in my side. Coachella fees are a thorn of love.

Youre onto something... I think after a person attends x # of Coachella's, they should be able to apply for citizenship of sorts, which holds them a spot each year.

Seriously, but how does one prove such a status?

Now that we have the option to register our wristbands, that should be pretty simple. I like the idea, a lot. :)

Going forward it'll be easy, proving past attendance would be harder but not impossible. It'd have to be a case by case thing... pictures, witnesses, souveniers, specific memories of small details, etc.

Somebody get Paul on the line!

scenicworld
04-26-2012, 07:13 PM
Yeah, but at least there is a system in place that can be used going forward. I still have all of my wristbands and ticket stubs (except 2006 since I did the e-tickets), but it doesn't seem feasible to send them in or take pictures with them.

Your orders are also tracked with frontgate as long as you used the same account, so that's something else they can do for the last few years.

I'd love a chance to have a chat with Paul.

Can somebody post a picture? I think I saw him after Madness.

Seriously, but how does one prove such a status?

Possession of booklets from the years you attended? Ticket stubs? Submitting a 5,000 word review of the various years you were there? Plenty of options.
