ID LIKE MORE BANDS ADDED TO THE MIX OF THE SHOWS......
this year does suck somewhat on talent of shows from top to bottom daily.

After the headliners. one or two really good bands OR Dj's then down hill.

Just an opinion...... Any opposition to it .. How many would you like 5 or 10??????

and woogie woogie woogie woogie woogie woogie woogie woogie woogie

The fact that you mention She Wants Revenge as a highlight of last year's show just blows my mind. Last year's lineup was fantastic, but She Wants Revenge? What a generic band (that has already been forgotten). I think this year's lineup is great...

I have to agree, although there are some I would go for--The Chain, Interpol, Silversun, Kings,-It does seem weak, especially at the top. I was hoping for Keane, Black Angels, The View, Midlake, Killers, Drive-By Truckers, Clearlake, Sons and Daughters, Echo, Morrissey, Modest Mouse, and maybe a real surprise headliner R.E.M. doing 1981-1987; Roger Waters -Dark Side of the Moon, etc. and some new headliners. Bjork alone sucks (what about the 'cubes?); RATM boring (come on, a one off? ); Peppers-how many times can you play the same song.
I know the comments are comming, so bring them on. Oh, by the way WILLIE FUCKIN NELSON? NICKEL CREEK? HAPPY MONDAY? I 'll just go off to Tennesse this June. But whose ever going have fun!!! Who knows...I still might buy a ticket. I feel myself reaching for my card now...In fact I do want to see Klaxons; CSS; Arctic Monkeys; Fields; Air; Sonic Youth; Explosions; Wher The fuck is my credit card? WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING? This is a good line-up, not great. GO COACHELLA!!!!!

I could understand why anyone who likes Keane would not like this years lineup. I just can't understand why anyone would like Keane at all.

Can' t say til after the event - but it could be the BEST COACHELLA EVER

So many people become disappointed because something doesn't live up to expectations. Expect less and you won't be disappointed. Or better yet, don't expect at all. Just wait patiently and then, appreciate.

hey depeche...are you planning on attending this year?

if not, you'd do us all a favor if you'd stay off the message boards. Coachella is not for the cynical. It's for the kind and free spirited. Go away quietly please.

this board is light compared to how the ozzfest board goes. mention anything positive and its sure death!! lol i would of enjoyed going last year but im cool with the lineup. honestly all the headliners could suck and i would still go. its for the vibe and you always discover new bands to get in to u know?

i literally wait all year every year for coachella, day by day i countdown, and i agree it's for the peaceful and free spirited--which is what makes it such a beautiful experience; however, i must admit i agree with depeche, i have been checking back every day for about a month now, waiting for the lineup to be posted, and as soon as i saw it yesterday, i thought it must've been a prank. last year's lineup left me speechless, but besides arcade fire, felix, dj shadow, and infected mushroom, i'm pretty let down. don't get me wrong, you couldn't pay me to miss any of the three days just for the experience alone, but i just thought i'd feel a little more clear if i "peacefully" vented on here!

The Killers? Morrissey? Drive-By Truckers? I saw the former and the latter in September at the Virgin Festival and they weren't what I would call impressive. Sure, if I was 45 and had a penchant for Budweiser I would absolutely love the Drive-By Truckers and if I did not own a radio nor a computer I might find The Killers somewhat unique. That being said, Morrissey is bad for your soul.

What the f*ck are you lot whinging about? You b*stards get The Mary Chain.

Friday looks like a great day.
Sonic Youth, Jarvis, Arctic Monkeys, TJAMC and Interpol followed by either an early night or down to the nearest bar for Bjork.

I just hope that I can find a way of getting over there from the UK.

The fact you slag Willie Nelson and Happy Mondays renders any points you WILL EVER MAKE, invalid and pathetic. Made even more obvious by saying the Sugarcubes are better than Bjork solo - hahahahaha, that's rich.

This lineup is not terrible, but I agree that it was a bit of a letdown. That being said, I think we should all expect a few "big" names to be added within the next few weeks. If you look at past years, you'll see a grip of fairly popular subheadliners...much bigger than the Happy Mondays, the Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, etc. I don't think any day is bad - there are plenty of good artists. However, last year had much bigger names (e.g., Common, Kanye, Madonna, Matisyahu, etc.) spread throughout the days.

I'm going for Willie and Bjork for the most part. Major doobage.

I'm also pretty escited about Rage and the Comedians of Comedy. As for the rest of the concert, it's just time to enjoy the nifty art and meeting cool people. I'll take all the time in California that I can get seeing as how I'm from Virginia.

Too many youngsters on this board. As gavdann said you get the fucking Jesus and Mary Chain reforming and performing. It is therefore a great Coachella. End of.

But even if the weren't there, it's still really strong.

THis year's lineup is the best except for the 2004 day when Radiohead and the Pixies were there. I wish they would try to add the Doves who cancelled a few years ago.

Too many youngsters on this board.

As much as I disagree with the topic starter and believe that the lineup this year is fucking fantastic, I take issue with this statement.

<--- Turns 18 this month.
<--- Is going for Rage, RHCP, Placebo, Happy Mondays, Jarvis Cocker, New Pornographers, just counting some of the more than 5 year + acts, as well as Interpol, The Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Air, Silversun Pickups, Crowded House, Faithless, and the like.

I hate sweeping generalizations... Especially the ones where, unfortunately, there is truth to said generalization, but it still makes you fume.

better than thise years daily talent.

Im not saying rage s better than so and so or you maniacs fighting and kiling over which band is better???

The best thing about last year was Daft Punk. Sure, there was lot's of other great stuff as well, but really the "big names" like Madonna, Kanye, Franz Ferdinand, etc. were a bit disappointing. I stuck around for about three or four of Depeche Mode's songs, decided it sucked, and moved on. Lady Soveriegn was dope though. As was Wolfmother. And Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The lineup this year is great, and I think it's especially well spread over the three days, although Friday could use a slight boost. If you're only judging by "big name bands," you will ALWAYS be disappointed by Coachella because that's not the major draw. It's the undercard, not the headliners, baby. Even given that fact, you've got Bjork and a one-off Rage Against the Machine reunion! ( along with the Chilli Peppers just kinda pissing a lot of people off... but I think they'll still be better than Depeche Mode or even New Order from '05, but definitely not as good as Massive Attack, Tool, or even Nine Inch Nails...)

Please, don't complain about the awesome lineup each year. If you don't like the lineup, please don't come to Coachella. Go find a festival with a "better lineup."

It would be un american to tell me not to complain(i meant conversation over differences)...

Also um i have 4 , 3 day passes. going?? still not sure.... the coming release of bands or i take all three or a cpl of them, still not sure!!!!

But im not a complainer. Also dont need the name brand bands either.if it was free id quiet my trap, but im paying and have an opinion. And would like a stronger line-up and believe the three days is more difficult to get a strong line-up daily. As the past has shown nice line-ups under the headliner.

AT this point im done with this threaD
