If you're selling the ticket for more than face value, you're scalping. No scalping is allowed here.

You unbelievable pieces of shit.

Not if I'm selling it for the price I bought it.

I'm trying to sell mineZZZ for $5,000 a pair..muahaha! I do remember seeing them a lot higher these past years from scalpers. They should start selling tickets to the person and make them only valid for that person and their group. If they can't make it, issue a refund and then sell them facevalue again.

There is no scalping allowed on the board. The board is not in California.

Rules of CA are not rules of forum

oh where is the board at?

Plus i realized it wasnt a generalized idea of scalping you were talking about but talking about on the board.

But i do want to know how close to a heart attack most of you people are...

So let me get this straight. You can't buy a car camping pass by itself?

Through Frontgate, no. I ordered week 2 passes and exchanged them with someone for week 1s and I called Frontgate to getting car camping for 1 and they said only if I ordered week 1 tix originally.

But you can buy them from a third party without buying a pass? I keep reading camping passes are attached to festival passes. What does that even mean?

Putting all ethical and/or legal issues aside, assuming you do want to scalp your tickets, there are much more secure and efficient places of accomplishing it than a message board.

Not 100% sure what the rules are but FG did say that I would have to buy mine 3rd party since I couldn't through them due to not having weekend 1 orders under my name

No, 3 Aussie chicks got a camping pass and needed a ride so we are meeting up and I am driving them in.

If this is a serious question, what it means is that using the RFID chip, they've electronically linked wristbands and car camping passes using purchase order numbers.

It was a serious question.

I just got off the phone with frontgate and they informed me that there is no way to buy a camping pass from a third party unless you buy the wristband as well. That sucks. I guess this is old news, but it is just barely registering with me. I guess they scan your wristband along with your camping pass when you enter the campground and if they don't match up they don't let you in. So shitty.

Well, the entire point of it was to avoid the crazy inflated scalping of camping passes from the past couple years.

before, you could have 4 people buy a ticket and a camping pass, and then 3 of those people could sell their camping passes for crazy prices when they all sold out. Doesn't make sense for more than one person in as group to buy them now - avoid artificial early sell-outs and curb scalping in one fell swoop. This was all laid out back when the layaway tickets went on sale last year.

I haven't been since 09 so I haven't really paid attention and didn't know it was a problem. I mean, it's a good way to avoid that, but what about the people who are willing to sell at face to the people who have had plans change that now need to camp?

In 2010 car camping passes sold out ultra quick and people were scalping them for $500-600. What you're proposing is a limited problem compared to that, unfortunately for you.

Dani, can you confirm I will be turned away from camping if my wristband doesn't match my camping pass? The frontgate lady seemed unsure and said it was a promoter issue.

You know, this information is pretty clearly stated on the website.

if a person is selling you a camping pass, based on the new system, it also means s/he has a festival pass - so just trade your festival pass + $$$ for his/her camping pass and corresponding festival pass

kreutz2112

I didn't think of that. Thanks.
