Could someone recommend a good tent fan or any other cooling device for tents and shade? Or are they not really worth it? First time camping so not exactly sure what to expect

Definitely worth it. I just bought a cheap one from walmart last year and it worked great.

I had those for my tent last year ^^^. They work fine, but I would recommend having one for every person in the tent. During the morning (before the fest) we would have to share 2 fans between 4 people, which wasn't great.

Ever sit inside of a sauna and blow the hot air on yourself? Well that's what it feels like using a tent fan in coachella after the sun rises. I find that striking a conversation over drinks with a neighbor under my tarp/shade more enjoyable than sitting in a hot tent.

Got a few battery powered fans at wal-mart for super cheap last year. between those and the fan/mister's we bought they were a life saver in the afternoon at camp before heading into the festival.
