Okay kids, what do you all consider the catchiest, most fun songs? I just had to start a topic for this after seeing THE WORST LIST EVER (http://www.amazon.com/Catchiest-songs-millennium-order-updated/lm/RUH52KSQZ4DUM), courtesy of some random nu-metalhead neanderthal on amazon.

off the top of my head...
Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Supergrass - Alright
Blur - Boys & Girls
Michael Jackson - Beat It (and many more, really)
Pulp - Common People

Songs that've been in my head constantly
Olivia Tremor Control-I Have Been Floated
LCD Soundsystem-North American Scum
Daft Punk-Around the World
The Beatles-Paperback Writer
Decemberists-16 Military Wives

Lounge Fly

Blur - Boys & Girls

Very good choice for a catchy song, I thought of Song 2 also from Blur as being like that even if most people don't know the words.

As far as the others guys list from the first link, well its obvious he's just talking pretty much rock tunes but I'll agree at least with one of them. 'Show Me How to Live' I think has one of the catchiest base lines and is just an all around great song to listen to.

Not necessarily my favorites, but what I find to generally be some of the most catchy fun tunes, even if totally played out, would have to be:

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Ab.so.lutely. And the person that quoted the Silversun Pickups song. I guess it's defined as "catchy" by the fact that we can all get the same parts in our head - because...they're fucking catchy.

Anyway - I read this story once (I think I've told you all this before - but there's enough people that haven't heard it) about a true medical condition that only a small amount of people have had where they actually hear music. Physically. Stuff from their past - they aren't even old and they think they're losing their minds. But it's like a radio that never shuts off and you don't get to choose the song. I can't even imagine.

I get the "girl I'm gonna make you sweat...sweat till you can't sweat no more.." song in my head. A lot. Inner Circle I think? It's a fucking disgusting song to experience over and over with no control - like I'm sitting at work and that song about "pushing it" deep comes in my head and I feel like a pervert and can't make direct eye contact with people.

Scatman and Banana Phone are the catchiest songs ever.

I was shooting a graduation ceremony this weekend at this really pretentious liberal arts school. One of the students was presenting paintings, and one of them was of a pink Ganesha with a spiral-corded phone coming out of it's bellybutton and a bunch of bananas hanging from above.
