people are ridiculous:
the shins are in europe
anyone who played last year is out of question
if a band is not getting reunited or had an album out in 06 or 07 then they are out of the question.
karin from the knife is pregnant

no way in hell for neutral milk hotel, david bowie, velvet underground and all the nostalgic dreams.

be realists people.

But who would I absolutely fucking LOVE to see?

BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE. Abso-fucking-lutely. I would go to Coachella solely for them, if I had to.

Tori Amos would be interesting as well.

I know one of these days Portishead will give in to the Coachella love, but I'm not sure about this year. There is still hope, however.

The Knife have played festivals in Europe, it's very possible. But Karin's also supposedly very pregnant.

you would be dissappointed with their set. I was shocked at how terrible they were live

bmack86
02-04-2007, 11:09 PM
They were awesome. THe show was more than just a musical performance, it was a multimedia event. They really had a command of visual interaction. And, Karin was singing the whole time, so at least some aspect of the performance was live. I enjoyed the Knife's live show immensely.

R.E.M.
It's about friggin' time that these boys were on the bill. As much I love many of the artists on the 07 lineup, where are the Coachella noobies? R.E.M. has never played the show, and really deserve to.

A Tribe Called Quest
They did the reunion circuit late last year; why not conclude that with C'07 so that I can actually see them??

Portishead
Quite simply, these guys need to play. It would be dumbstrikingly amazing. It's been far too long.

i'm really suspecting that the postal service will play this year.
i read that they will release a new album this year and the boards ask for them every year.

Ha Tears for Fears! That would be nice, but it won't happen. Might as well ask for The Cars. Daft Punk, the Knife and Neutral Milk Hotel will definitely NOT play. It would be nice, but c'mon it's not going to happen. I could see smaller bands still being added like Build to Spill, Band of Horses, Beirut or Mew. I bet there is at least one more big name in the works, but your guess is as good as mine. I am hoping for Clipse.

A little hardcore for Coachella, isn't it? And I don't think Claus has toured in 10+ years...health problems. I don't know if he ever toured as Klute...thought that was a studio only thing.

Blur reunion to go with T.G.T.B.A.T.Q

either of the 1/4 Libertines bands, Babyshambles or DPT. Babyshambles cause something f-in crazy would happen, DPT cause we need the band to actually show up and play.

Smashing Pumpkins (never seen em, liked em in high school, tired of the threads about this, lets just hear everything they got @ Coachella before Billy f'es it all up.)

Last year we got Massive Attack, Daft Punk, Kanye and Madonna added after the initial lineup. So let the guessing begin!

I haven't lost hope for Neutral Milk Hotel, Bowie, Prince, Velvet Underground, and Daft Punk because I didn't catch their full set last time. I'd be ok with the Police.

Oh and The Knife, Herbert, Goldfrapp or Matmos for the Sahara, though given they're not major acts it's a longshot by now :(

JAMC are a great addition, so is Manu Chao since you don't see him too often here in the States.

What are you hoping for? There's bound to be some kind of pop star added soon. I just hope it's not Gwen :)

ANTI-FLAG, staind, cyprees hill, etc etc...

Moest Mouse, of Montreal (I know, I know, already added or whatever)... those would be tight. And I was really hoping for MM this year, and it would be totally predictable.

And am I incredibly far out of line to wish wish wish for Gorillaz, seeing as how The Good, the Bad, and the Queen are already on? That'd be kind of the most amazing thing ever I think.

ok, i just have a few requests...

...
Mindless Self Indulgence
...
Sebastien Grainger - if you are going to have half of Death From above 1979 represented with MSTRKRFT then have the other half.
Death From above 1979 - the best two man group of all time! never has just a drummer and a bass guitarist sounded like musical heaven! this is my number one bad i wish would be there. they are broken up, but bring them back to life!

ok, so maybe i should just start my own coachella type weekend, but i am already impressed with the artists that are already listed. i don't know what people are saying about there are not that many good bands/ groups. i think this year is VERY solid!

My god, if MSI were added... that would be amazing.
Unfortunately they are playing a Festival in Europe on April 27,28,29... funny enough. So no MSI :(
And considering half of DFA1979, are already there... getting the other half wouldnt be that hard. Too bad Jesse F. Keller doesnt want to go back to DFA. He said himself, he has wanted to do electronic/dance music all his life. A Band was something he just did partly to waste time, but also to get his name out there. When DFA became sucessfull, he saw this as an opotunity. So really, he used DFA to launch MSTRKRFT. Sneaky guy. Oh well. You should be happy for him. Hes doing what hes alwasy wanted to. Personaly, I would rather see DFA than MSTRKRFT haha. But I am stoked to see MSTRKRFT anyways. Heres hoping for a DFA remix!
Ive said it before, Ill say it again...
TOM WAITS!!! or The Mars Volta!

The Police will be going to Coachella under the name The Tesla Coil.

I apologize for my presumptuousness, but I am stealing this for my sig.

I would like to see any Josh Homme project added (QOTSA, Kyuss, Desert Sessions), Mute Math, the Black Angels, and Modest Mouse.
Isis and Jesu would be nice too. They are playing the West Coast in April together.

I actually saw Pet Shop Boys a couple months ago...they were great. Especially "Integral". Weird to hear them getting so political.

of course, royksopp is amazing, would be a great add. but i think there are enough astralwerks artists there this year, they wont book another.
i've been rooting for goldfrapp every year. she would be a perfect fit.
Dalek - i was told last night they were to be submitted to perform, but they were supposed to be in europe so they said no. now, europe's not happening for them at that time, so they have the dates open. i was told 'maybe next year' for them. everyone should check them out. awesome dark noise hip hop stuff.

Coachella promoters have no reason to add more big names. The event is already sold out, except for Friday - which I'm sure is close to selling out.

I'm so confident no big names are going to be added, that if I'm wrong, I'll volunteer to be Psychic Friend's work slave for a day!
