I hope they are super thorough. That's the most play I'll probably get all year.

Also thank you for debuting your new breasts at Coachella for everyone to enjoy.

I really don't understand the logic of getting your tits done but not wanting them fondled, I thought that was half the fun, free drinks and better raises must get old right?

Nothing says sexy like a pair of sewn back in bloody nipples. There are female security guards doing the female pat downs. All of them appear to have played way too much softball...

Depends on the lady you get. Last year some of them got kind of friendly, but not TSA agent. I saw worse at Outside Lands.

I usually find the yound security ladies are the easier ones. Older secruity women usually have no problem rubbing down everything.

It really depends. Some assholes made me take off my shoes and checked every nook and cranny of my backpack. Sometimes when I entered they didn't par me down at all.

I'm assuming its arbitrary and at there discretion. One I i was with got in an SLR camera and a backpack full of beer. Next time he goes through, they tell him no to the beer and SLR camera.

That's pretty intense. I'd be outraged. And if he fully ripped it off all hell would break loose.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked. Fortunately my friends (much larger than myself) came over when they saw something was up and that loser backed off. Should have tried to report him to someone or something but I had shows to see...

I have never been subjected to anything other than half-assed, cursory security checks at Coachella. One day I was so drunk that I don't even remember going through security. The security seems more interested in stopping people from bringing in bottled water than they do in stopping contraband.

Lol they don't sell drugs. They sell water and you need water. So they make you pay inside.

Point being: they should sell Coachella brand druqs

All bets are off this year. They had to hire added "professional" security after the rape at Stagecoach last year. That may ultimately mean nothing regarding how serious the searches are since they still need to get 70K people in through the gates efficiently, but just stash your shit well the first day just to be safe.

However, if they're doing boob-grab-pat-downs I'm sure it's just for their own benefit. Aren't new boobs supposed to be massaged regularly anyway?

I for one have never receiver anything other then a full cavity search so I guess it depends on which guard you get.

When I went in 2009 I was so drunk that the security guard gave me a high five as I passed him!
In 2010 the security pat me down on the sides of my shorts and just let me go.

Do they go through your personal bag, like where your have clothes, underwear and bras? I would feel very uncomfortable if one of the guys were trying to touch my shit in a "wrong" way.

I went in 09 and they did check my bag and I got a pat down, but the checking bag part was very lax and fast.

How easy is it to sneak alcohol into the festival from the campgroungs? sasquatch was easy last year but Lollapalooza is always a bitch to sneak in flasks, plastic 5ths, etc... what's the protocol at 'Chella?

The more you act open to a search the less they search you!

Just wink at the black/latino guy searching you before he starts.

That will make it fast - or backfire really badly

I agree with whoever said Outside Lands was way worse. Most of the time @ Coachella it's like a pat on the back, "Welcome to Coachella!"

In '06 to save money on water we attempted to get in those 3 gallon jugs of water as "1" bottle of water. It worked half the time. The other time we didn't want to waste the water and so we yelled out " Who wants water poured on them!" It was a scorcher if I remember and quickly a nice single file line formed and we dumped out ~ 9 gallons on a bunch of people.

Anyways pat downs are "usually" fairly lax.

Could you put them in a clear ziploc bag? That way if it were an issue they could see them but wouldn't need to actually touch them.

I once snuck some vodka into Outside Lands by wrapping it in a blanket in my backpack (it was one of those bigger Phillips flask shaped bottles). The security guard felt it through the bottom and said "What's the round plastic thing at the bottom of your backpack." I panicked for a sec, then said "That's just the backpack."
She looked at me for a minute, clearly not buying what I just told her, handed me back my bag, and let me go on through! Neither me nor my GF could believe we got away with it!!

But, as with every event, security is always a crapshoot depending on who you get.

Are you guys serious about Outside Lands? Last year I literally walked in on day 3 without even being touched by anyone.

Also my friend forgot his day 3 ticket and they were nice and let him in. So no ticket, no search, still got into outside lands.

Coachella pat downs are very lax coming from the campground but I've never come in the other way. Getting into the campgrounds is a little tougher but I've never had a real problem.

Half the time they don't even make people lift their hats

However, they DO lift up the girls bra's to see if any contraband is stuffed in there. Last time they did this, which was just last year, I was soooooo humiliated!

Just walk through the gates Friday without anything on you to get a feel for security. Make sure you look around and scope out which security guards are checking thoroughly. Then leave in a few minutes and come back with your shit.

For guys with shorts its usually a pocket grab. They never get too high up on the crotch region, you just gotta know who's cool. Theres been times when I've literally walked through without them saying a word.

I had a CRAZY patdown on friday entering the fields.. The Security made us take off our Cell Phone covers.. Had us open our wallets and go through it.. checked any and every little spot they could in backpacks.. It took almost an hour to go through the line.. Probably averaged about 3 minutes per person. They also had other people take of their shoes AND SOCKS!!

Seemed pretty ridiculous because this was only to get into the venue (not the actual concert) and we had visited our friends at the campsite on Thursday night and brought water and bikes in and we weren't even stopped or checked....
