Hey I was just wondering what everyone coming from Canada is doing or how long it's taking. If your driving you don't need the passport but has anyone had any problems with getting over the border without a passport?

Canadians can continue to use such documents as their birth certificates and drivers’ licence to cross the Canada-U.S. border BY LAND AND SEA for at least another year.

the new US passport requirement applies to passengers on international flights only. Passengers boarding US domestic flights are not legally required to have a passport, however, all passengers must show proof of their identity. We recommend you contact your airline to determine their identification requirements.

if your driving then 2 pieces of government ID are required, one of them being photo. so you can have passport, drivers license, care card, social insurance etc. sometimes at the peace arch border crossing in vancouver they dont even ask for ID, but dont count on it. if your flying you basically need a passport. if you dont have one, id suggest getting on that soon cuz it takes a while. im flying from vancouver, but i got my passport already

It's gonna be a sad day when Canadians and Americans lose the right to cross our border so freely. But, I guess that's the world we live in.
