I'd love to see some contemporary classical artists add like Philip Glass, Kronos Quartet, Clint Mansell, John Cage...something along those lines

You're fifteen years too late to get John Cage.

Also I'd be pretty shocked if anything like this ever happened, even with the Mansell/Kronos/Mogwai soundtrack for the Fountain. Which I forgot to add to my mp3 player, again.

I'd wanna watch whatever it was, though.

last night I was at this sushi restaurant and they had a big flatscreen tv and were playing a concert by some group called Bond. 4 very attractive, rather young, scantily clad young European ladies playing violin, viola, cello, backed up by band. It was the worst shit I'd been exposed to in a while. they even played the theme from the TV show "Dallas". and apparently this is quite popular in Europe, which confirms much of what I already believed about the soccer-loving euros.

Tom, I'm guessing that you weren't dining in Fountain Hills last night.

I was, actually. Why do you say that?

That seems like a very odd thing for American television to be broadcasting. Anything related to Dallas, and I just assume that it's programming from overseas. But it sounds like I'm wrong here? Oh, those crazy sushi restaurateurs and their taste in television.

I think they were playing a DVD actually.

as bad as Bond was, when I first came in they had an Eagles concert DVD playing, which was almost enough to make me leave.

That is seriously disturbing, Tom.

I would love to see Kronos Quartet and Mogwai play along to The Fountain live...I could basically die happily after that if that were to ever happen

i find it awful that you consider john cage a contemporary of philip glass and clint mansell. Cage was working on a totally different level than these "contemporary" neanderthals thirty years prior to them.

ugh. not to mention, he's fucking dead.

Lots of bands at Coachella had a string section, that could be considered classical influenced. Maybe they should show Amadeus in the Coachella campgrounds next year.
