Ok seriously, what the fuck is this? Just a block of Pure Filth djs? I guess that's decent though it hardly makes up for the absence of the dome.

Probably Sam XL and a couple regulars switching out for a normal Sahara block?

That's gotta kinda suck.

Hey, Sam, wanna come out to the polo field again?

Sure, I can help book some acts and set up sound, etc

No, we just want you to play for an hour.

I'm curious to know what happened with Pure Filth this year. Was it not popular enough? Did GV just feel it wasn't worth dropping money on? Did Sam not want to do it? Last year's addition of that stage made me so hopeful for what could come involving more underground electronic artists but this year is the complete opposite.

Last year the best acts I saw were at the Dome, Lil B, Hype, High Contrast, Beardyman... that shit was tight, is there any way for there to be a Pure Filth stage?

Now what makes me curious is who's involved with Sam on this new live act.

I think it is a combination of low turnout last year and the addition of a new beer garden in The Terrace.

I suppose its still possible that the dome returns in some fashion.

I don't get where they get low turn out from, every time I was at the dome it was PACKED, especially for for Lil B, High Contrast, Beardyman

yea but for a lot of the other tracks it wasnt at all. there were like 10-20 people there on the last day maybe. ramadanman was good though, so was zed bias. really disappointed that there is almost zero good bass music this year.

The Dome was really not good last year. You couldn't hear a thing if you weren't directly inside, and it was a ghost town most of the time I walked by it. Beardyman had a crowd though.

Yeah I wondered where all the bass and tech house artists went this year. I really wanted to see some Night Slugs artists on the lineup :(

The dome had great turnouts for the well known artists, and even more for others. But those artists only consisted of like 8%-10% of the dome lineup, the rest of artists had like 1/3-1/4 of the place full. lol these are rough guesstimations but it was generally how I saw it.

See this was a different experience for me. Every time I walked into or past the dome there were maybe 100 people there max. I wasn't there for Lil B or Beardyman though.

As others have mentioned, some sets were packed while others were desolate. I was able to walk right to the front for SBTRKT and Ramadanman, and Kode9 was criminally under-populated (just to name a few).

Last year Lil B's crowd was overflowing out of the Dome. I saw Goth Trad a couple hours before, put on one of the best shows of the weekend and he somehow only had like ten people watching. SBTRKT was a pretty low turnout until the last half hour when all the Lil B fans starting filling in.

if low turnout is the reason we won't have the oasis dome than how would they explain booking the buzzcocks given wire's attendance last year?

I'm hoping they bring back the campground sessions, But in the camping section on the website with all the goodies they list pure filth isnt one of them.

THIS.

In 2009, The highly-regarded event promoter Goldenvoice extended an invite to Pure Filth to throw a BASSFACE event at California’s uber festival Coachella. Pure Filth, Low End Theory & Brainfeeder residents alongside Hyperdub boss Kode 9 gathered in the desert for a friendly soundclash of sorts. That Saturday night Flying Lotus got to play an extended set to a crowd of about 12,000 people on a pyramid of bass cabinets that literally shook Indio Valley to its core as noise complaints were reported about the bass from over 2 miles away!

The dome's location and setup were terrible, but the lineups were great. If they could find a place for a smaller stage with that kind of lineup it'd be far more popular
