I have never heard of this band until I saw the lineup posted. I listened to them, and they sound like a good upcoming indie band. I will try to see them.

I tried catching them at FunFunFun Fest this past year but they went on to early and I drank too much the night before. Maybe I'll see them here.

Keep Shelly in Athens are in the top quartile of bands on the Coachella 2012 lineup.

Bumping this thread with some music. They are going to be one of the best day time acts of the weekend.

Lay down, smoke a bit, and close your eyes music.

I have been obsessed with "DIY" so much lately.

Huge, huge fan, but was disappointed with their show at the Roxy last year. Alot of others were too judging by the comments in the Upcoming Shows thread.. I think it was their third or fourth show ever though, so hopefully they are better at Coachella.

My boyfriend and I left The Roxy asking each other how in the hell they ever got booked for Coachella. Presumably, they were booked before they even started performing in public. The singer was WAY off key and had no stage presence, but those are things that can improve with experience and coaching, so hopefully they'll tighten up by April. Unless I see some great reviews and YouTubes of later shows before then, though, I'll be advising all of my friends to skip their set. It was difficult to watch, honestly. I had much higher hopes for their live show.

I was disappointed I couldn't make it down to LA for that show, but I guess I didn't miss much. Hopefully they can pull it together for Coachella. It's probably one of their biggest shows they've booked so far, since they're so new, so they should be rehearsing quite a bit. Regardless, I'll be seeing them since there likely won't be any conflicts early on.

Yeah so I think you've wandered into this board by mistake. This is the Coachella Music Festival board, not American Idol. Take your Simon Cowell act and go fuck yourself.

Won't happen. They're billed second to last on their day and their sound would translate fine in the daylight.

Eat me. Throbbing Gristle was one of my all time favorite sets at Coachella; I'm not looking for perfect pitch in a live show. Unwatchable shit is what it is. They sucked, plain and simple. I was cringing the whole time. Out of 170 music events and easily twice that many sets last year, they were in the bottom 5, if not the absolute worst.

As far as "wandering into the board by mistake..." get off your fuckin high horse. Plenty of people on this board are 100x more judgemental and self-important than I or Simon could ever be, starting with yourself.

unfortunately i have to 100% agree with this. saw em here at chop suey in seattle and it wasnt like.... a little flat. she straight up couldnt sing. the whole band looked like they were playing a high school talent show, not that fashion matters but at least like... try. or look excited, or something. the songs didnt translate live at all. i was a huge fan going in and left totally turned off.

They will most likely disappoint, but I am keeping my hopes up. All their albums are great though.

Where's that Boys Outside track from? It's on none of their releases.
