Their sets in Sept were an hour 40. We'll have to see what happens in March. I think the days are gone with they were doing 2+ hour sets with 25 songs on average. Unless they keep going with that on the proper tour. I just wanna see how the lights are gonna be.

I've been waiting to see them for over a decade, so I'm still a little overwhelmed that its finally happening. TKOL is the album that every Radiohead fan loves to hate. I admit upon my first few listens, I was in the same boat. But I put it away for a few months and then returned to it and connected with it just as I did with their previous albums. I suggest this for everyone else. Maybe it won't work, but it could happen the same way it did for me. And, "Lotus Flower" is going to sound godly on the Polo Fields so don't worry.

I'm thinking Kaskade---> Guetta in the Sahara during Radiohead? Would be brilliant booking actually. Take away that crowd and make the main stage less crowded. I hope they get longer than 2 hrs.

Serious question though, considering the Thom Yorke cluterfuck in 2010 how early do you think you'll have to get there to get a decent spot? I'm not waiting all day, but I think it's not going to be just a case of "get there as Bon Iver is finishing" thing. Will I be forced to watch all of Bon Iver just to get a decent spot (not that I hate him, Just thinking better stuff will be going on like Flylo)

A decent spot will mean getting there several acts early, and I won't be doing that. Been up front a few times and doing so would mean missing non-main stage acts like Mangum, Godspeed, St Vincent and then having to watch Bon Iver, The Shins, Noel Gallagher, etc while playing the wait game.

Radiohead were my favorite band once upon a time and I've had a great experience at their shows in the past but Thom has gotten pretty damn indulgent in his old age (see: Glastonbury last year). They stated that they would be playing mostly new material (King of Limbs and In Rainbows) and try to find older material that "fit" in their set list (Homesick Alien for example). I think we will get a better idea of what their set will be like once they start their US tour in Feb. Everything is usually a track they ALWAYS play live, Optimistic is a little more rare so I wouldn't expect it.

Because its a crime to play their new material in front of an audience like they have always done? When has Radiohead ever played what "many" wanted to hear? If that is the case, they have been indulgent since OK Computer.

I think it would've be better if you just said, "I hate the new material and did not want to hear it live at Glastonbury".

Well that was part of it.

But just for instance, when they were testing their In Rainbows material, their sets looked like this http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/radiohead/2006/hummingbird-centre-toronto-on-canada-6bd6f246.html . Or (granted this was probably their best set ever) like this http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/radiohead/2006/great-stage-park-manchester-tn-63d6f23f.html . Of course, these sets are much longer. But there's something to be said for them giving their essential material a fair shake amongst their new stuff, particularly when they don't tour very often.

That said, I understand Thom's desire to play the new stuff and defy "popular" expectations. But that doesn't mean I won't feel underwhelmed when their encorse runs from feral to separator to everything in its right place.

Gonna have to disagree. One of my favorites from that album. All I Need, too.

This will be my first time seeing Radiohead live which is a fucking crime. Are they best in large outdoor festivals or in indoor smaller venues? I expecting a response to support the latter.

They are best in your own backyard.

if you're curious whether they have a stronger performance at smaller/intimate venues vs say festivals...you should watch some 2003 Glastonbury songs, starting There There & CUTW are stand outs. both can be up-res'd to HD. they do a killer job anywhere, was lucky enough to catch them @ MSG Theatre in 2006. wasn't a huge fan of The Gloaming opening though....

I've seen Radiohead 8 times and am a huge bootleg collector. They pretty much never play anything from Pablo Honey, maybe 2 or 3 from the Bends and OK Computer. Even though they said they'd be playing mostly TKOL and IR on this tour I expect, from past festival set lists, that it will be a little more of a greatest hits show. The Glastonbury set from last year was all TKOL as it wasn't a planned thing and they wanted to test the new stuff live.

As someone who's never seen Radiohead, how far do they go back in their sets? Should I expect to hear some songs from Kid A, because that's one of my favorite albums. "Everything in Its Right Place" or "Optimistic" please.

It is a safe bet that Everything in It's Right place will be played. Extremely likely. Lots of Kid A tracks are possible.

They songs sounded great in ny. Obviously theres like 10 people on the whole board who were even there to give you opinions.

I was at night two at Roseland. Really enjoyed the King of Limbs songs after not being a huge fan of the album initially. S.H.A, Myxamatosis and Like Spinning Plates were definitely highlights for me that night.

Radiohead was my first concert ever. They got me to fall in love with music that isn't typically played on the radio. I am seeing them in St Louis in March and i couldnt be more excited. When i saw they were going to Coachella, i bought a ticket for the second weekend. Even if you dont like their music, they put on a hell of a show. Just close your eyes and let the music take you away. Very excited for theyre new stage set up as they hired the same guy to design their new set up as they did with theyre in rainbows tour....and man were those led tub stick things insane. Can't wait to see them at a festival though, apparently they have a special light show for festivals this year...i hope its true :)

I saw them in New York at one of the shows in the Roseland Ballroom. Wasn't a KoL fan at all, disliked it a lot, but the liver performances of it totally changed the album for it. KoL live is quite powerful, moreso than expected.

The lights were just a few tubes recycled from the In Rainbows tour arranged in horizontal lines, nothing impressive. Hopefully they'll unveil something new on tour or at Coachella.

People hate on this set all the time, but it's still my favorite Radiohead performance and possibly concert as well. I had never been a huge fan of The Bends until I saw them play Just and Fake Plastic Trees. Not to mention that The Gloaming was one of my least favorite Radiohead songs but the live version was so kick ass. And how about that funky ass rendition of Talk Show Host. It would be a shame if Amnesiac went unrecognized in their set. I might be wrong and life in a glass house are revelations live.

I'll take Amnesiac front to back k thx.

Revision: Radiohead can play whatever the fuck songs they want. There are no wrong answers.

...except creep. They won't play that.

Based on the set list posted above, it looks like there will be a good mix. The only thing that sucks about weekend 2 is having to wait that extra week.

I hope they don't focus too much on KOL and post-KOL songs. The Daily Mail, Supercollider, etc.. not really a fan.

I've gotten really into the King of Limbs In the Basement session. So I'll be happy even if they do play lots of KoL stuff, though of course I hope for more of a mix.

I've never really given Radiohead a proper listen. Not even sure if I should given that they will most likely conflict with some pretty bad-ass electronica on Saturday. hmmm, hopefully the set times don't come out the Wednesday before the shindig starts.

Don't mean to pull a supre, but you haven't been paying attention. Their main focus is going to be King of Limbs.

The new material is quite boring live. I'm sure it will be even worse since it's outdoors (I saw them most recently at Roseland). Hopefully they switch it up a tad.

I hope they play King of Limbs 3 times back to back with an encore of KoL b-sides.

How much overlap do you expect from the two weekend sets? I'm hoping for very little.

So whats pandering to them this time?

They often bring out Creep for big shows, like in 2006 at V festival in England and the following weekend in Edinburgh (which I went to). Since this is their first headlining slot since they 'experimented' at Glastonbury last year, I would guess 50-60% of the show will in In Rainbows and King of Limbs (really hoping for Jigsaw), they will throw in 1 from Amnesiac (You and Whose Army / I might be wrong / Pyramid song / maybe even spinning plates), 2-3 from Hail to the Thief (2+2=5 / There There / Wolf at the Door / Myxamotosis / Gloaming / Where I end ), 2 from Kid A (Everything / How to Disappear / Idioteque / National Anthem), 2 from Ok Computer (PA / Lucky / Karma most likely, possibly Airbag / Exit Music, I doubt SHA since they have only played a couple of times since 2003) and then 2 from the Bends (Street spirit / Just / Iron Lung / Fake plastic trees) and if we are lucky then nothing from Pablo Honey.

Probably a 17-18 song set. They rarely include any song not in this list these days, but do often surprise with bringing out an old song sometimes. Like who would have guessed the return of Subterranean Homesick Alien last year?

I could on about theoritical setlists but i like everything I'm hearing so far. I just want a fair representation of Kid A (How to Disappear Completely, The National Anthem) the rest can be whatever the hell they want. Although the possibility of SHA is definitely exciting.

KoL only has 8 tracks. There's 4 other songs they might play. Therefore, they will likely play 6 or 7 KoL-era songs each weekend, with 4 - 6 of those repeated. Aside from that, as seen above, they could easily play completely different sets. They could play four different sets in four nights if they wanted to. Certain songs: Paranoid Android, EIIRP, National Anthem, could conceivably be played both weekends, otherwise, I'd bet they're dissimilar.

But hey, the fuck do I know

KoL has grown to become one of my favorite Radiohead albums. I didn't know how to feel about it at first, but it just took some time. I have absolutely no problem with a KoL/In Rainbows heavy set. This band just keeps getting better.

Got a debate going on with my friends. What are the odds that they play Creep? I've seen some live performances on YouTube in 2009 at Reeding and in Chile. It's not my favorite or anything we were just talking about which would be a bigger sing-a-long at Coachella "Wonderwall" or "Creep".

Saw Noel Gallagher and his high flying shitbirds at Almost Acoustic Christmas this year.
He played Wonderwall. It sucked so hard. It's hard to make a bad song worse but he succeeded.
It's such bullshit that he gets billed so high after 1 mediocre album and no talent.
