I love how on the Concert for Bangladesh video when they are tuning and the crowd cheers and Ravi says something like "well hopefully you enjoy the show as much as the tuning"

I would LOVE to see Ravi Shankar at Coachella. He's gettin' up there in the years, isn't he? Golden Voice better hurry up before he croaks!

saw him at Walt Disney Concert Hall last year, the week before Coachella. It was an amazing experience to say the least. The pristine venue and the precision of the music made it an incredible cleansing of the ears to get ready for the audio onslaught that would happen at the polo grounds. There's no way Shankar's music would ever translate at a large festival like this, his performance demands a lot more attention
