I guess its just my year to be loving the lighter side of Coachella. I just had the pleasure to listen to the album and really really like it. Fun stuff and boy can he sure sound like Freddy Mercury at times...i guess thats the reference in 'Grace Kelly' but damn can he pull it off.

I have to admit, he does sound a lot like Freddie Mercury in parts of Grace Kelly, but thats the only song of his I have heard.

Imagine Mika, Sisscor Sisters, and Jamiroqui having a sing off judged by Elton John.

The resulting sounds would cause all men within a 100 mile radius to become gay and suddenly know how to dance (well).

... wouldn't be such a bad thing I suppose ...

I think Mika is kind of like a silly soundtrack to Rent.

Sorry to bring the thread down.

Grace Kelly is pretty good.

None for me thanks.

I checked out his album while doing some new Coachella artist research, yeah it's in the same vein as the Scissor Sisters who I thoroughly enjoy, but it's as if he tries too hard and frankly his lyrics are all a bunch of gobbeldygook. I mean I've always been able to make some allowances for decent pop music, but this just doesn't do anything for me.

Yes I listened to the whole album, several times. I give things a chance to sink in before I form an oppinion, but he just doesn't float my boat.

But hey that means more room for you to dance around at his set. Have yourself a ball.

Fuck yeah I'm watching the Meek! That shit couldn't be any gayer if it were called "Gay Gayerson" and that is EXACTLY why it is so awesome. His album is about half and half (his ballads don't do it for me) but if he plays "Relax (Take It Easy)", "Big Girl, You Are Beautiful", "Grace Kelly" and "Lollipop," it will be good times for all. He's a good dancer, too.

Still though guys--he is nowhere near as good as Scissor Sisters. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. BUD!

Mika's album is one of my favourite albums in a long time. I really enjoyed it. Great mix of piano rock with dance beats. I can not wait to see him live.

Mika is on my must miss list - along with The Feeling, The Kooks and The Kaisers and any other novelty acts who care to make the british music scene look like a dodo.
