Yeah you heard me. The initial line-up for V-Fest Toronto was just announced and it is just about as good as I had hoped.

http://www.virginfestival.ca/toronto/

The Smashing Pumpkins
Bjork
Interpol
The Killers
etc.

With about a million more to be announced.

Now Daft Punk and The Smashing Pumpkins are playing within a month of each other in Toronto. It's going to be a good summer.

It'll have to do better than that.

Oh I agree.

It's not a bad start though...

I would hope that a Virgin Festival would be something a little different actually...

So far, it doesn't look that much different than Coachella, besides SP.

And The Killers suck, so it looks like Coachella is winning so far.

Think it'd be safe to assume Smashing Pumpkins are doing most of the major rock festivals this summer?

They have to be the 3rd headliner for Lolla if DP takes the other spot along with PJ..

And does this mean Bjork is going to do another round of U.S. dates too then?

Wow...
So basically, Vancouvers virgin fest is for all the hipsters and emos.
And in Toronto, they get the Smashing Pumpkins?
Ugh.

Is Bjork whoring herself out to EVERY festival this year? Wow.

Too bad about The Killers. Fucking horrible band. You cannot begin to suggest that it rivals Coachella when all the other bands have yet to be announced. If they get exciting acts like Jarvis Cocker, PB&J, Of Montreal, CSS, Explosions in the Sky and exciting Coachella no-shows like Asobi Seksu, then yes, it will rival Coachella.

yeah I get that feeling too. it makes our performance feel so much less special. sigh.

So get your ticket and go to the festival. Why post about other festivals on this board? There are a SHITLOAD of festivals that "rival" coachella.

It shouldnt be posted in this section of the forum. Some people have never heard of the lounge... And you cant say "rival" after 4 major acts are only on the bill... Show me the support and we can start talking... Like the Coachella vs Bonnaroo thing is totally legit cause we can compare and all that. This is just a dorp in the bucket.. 4 acts DO NOT make a festival.

please, only a chump would think that rivals coachella

I feel vindicated that the festival I am attending is superior to the festival which you are attending.

And yet I have no idea why this is important.

Why post about other festivals on this board?um...because obviously the fact that there are a bunch of us talking about a fucking music festival on a message board on the internet must mean we're interested in music festivals. and i like hearing about as many (good) different ones as i can. our scope is not limited to coachella here.

I like when Tessa responds to anything because of the dancing pink elephant in her sig. (I also agree with her here, because a lot of what I listen to now has come from recommends from other posters on this board...and also hearing that a band/artist I want to see is playing any festival I can attend is good news to me...)

Yep, I learned about Sasquatch on this very board.

So, that's an experience that I wouldn't have gained had it not been for the free and open discussion of different festivals on these forums.

Yeah, really. If the Juggalo Gathering could afford her, would she play? At this rate...
