This just popped into my head out of nowhere and I got curious.

What do you guys think? Not with accommodations but a set dollar amount.

I hate that Pay-to-Play bullshit.
I've done it 3 times and it was 3 too many.

PotVsKtl, really? Bands pay-to-play at Coachella?
Serious question

Acts like Alana Grace or Miguel from past lineups had to either be paying for their spots or were strung along as a package deal with an act Coachella really wanted. I just can't see another way that GV would book them.

Hmm...I'd love to get my band to play at Coachella and would like to know how much it costs to play but I'm sure the promoters wouldn't like our material too much.

There are definitely bands that don't get paid, and they probably run up a pretty high tab with the record company for the spot. Lame.

But hey, they're living the dream, and they might be the next Lady Gaga or Black Keys, coming back to make bank in a few years.

Sad but true, dude. And good for them that they're doing it.

I know punk isn't really a Coachella-ish genre, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to play any less at Coachella. That's a dream of mine.

I've seen this same question and different wordings of it around here before. Some people offered that bands have been paid before in 3 day passes, which sounds believable to me.

More like "Whose dick do I have to suck to have my band play at Coachella?"

just ask Lil B.

Been going since '07.
I think it's pretty safe there aren't nearly as many punk bands as opposed to say indie bands.

Just stating a fact.

During the early days of rock n roll on radio the term "Payola" was coined & pegged to the small scandal of record companies paying DJ's for spins. Today of course its standard procedure.
If you wanna come up then I suggest gigging hard. Any aspiring act is never going to make it without touring relentlessly especially a punk band. Not too many shortcuts in the music industry unless your born into rock royalty or a label is 110% certain that you will be a great ROI.
