Hey Goldenvoice make this happen!

Maybe if they only promise to play their first two albums. Beautiful Garbage was alright, but the album after that completely fell off.

If bands were ok with this, we could TOTALLY invite Weezer to another Coachella. Just nothing past Pinkerton.

Have always wanted to see them live. 'Beautiful Garbage' is a great, and most likely overlooked due to there being no "hits", album (some pop songs, then getting very dark and deep the last part of the record). I'll add a vote.

I remember Shut Your Mouth, Breaking Up the Girl, Cherry Lips, and Androgyny being played all the time even though none were big hits. The real gems on the album were "Drive You Home" and "Cup of Coffee". I loved 2.0 but this album was on par with the self titled album as far as song structure and lyrical content. I got the chance to see them that touring cycle with No Doubt and it was amazing because they played half of the album in their allotted time.

Saw them on their innagural tour in Columbus Ohio at Newport music hall. I was 18 at the time. Met the entire band after the show and they all signed my shirt. Shirley complimented me on my marker she signed with and batted her lashes at me (swoon) no lie. My friend was making an ass outta himself asking Butch Vig about effects used on certain tracks on Nevermind. Astonishingly Butch was happy to entertain his conversation. What a surreal moment. They were really down to earth cool people.

Definitely an awesome live band if you haven't seen them before, Shirley Manson is just a sweet person. A few years back on the "Beautiful Garbage" tour stop @ SDSU, Manson invited everyone to pack the pit: I remember her saying something like this: "We don't come out to SoCal that often, so everyone up there in the seats, come down! Let them through security, and everyone make room for everyone else!"

The looks on everyone's face was priceless! I went from seats to right up in the front, took some awesome pictures in black and white (disposable styles).

Garbage's cover of U2's "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses", included on Q magazine's compilation album of U2 covers AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered.

First song since reformation. Will be released tomorrow.

From Garbage:

"This track has nothing to do with our new record and will not be included. It is not a single. It is simply a song that happens to be a cover version that you will hear in a matter of weeks, if you care to."

Garbage is AMAZING live!!!! I would say there is a really good chance garbage will be at coachella the new album is due out in March or April and Shirley has already mentioned she would love to play coachella. Butch Vig said in a interview ". We’ll probably start doing rehearsals in January of next year and then play a few small shows in March of April. Then maybe we’ll play some festivals both here and in Europe." I have my fingers crossed!

Beautiful Garbage was fantastic as well. It was not the same album as the first two but it was just as good as them in it's own way IMO.

Garbage was my first ever concert (in fact, it was the very one at SDSU mentioned by someone earlier in this thread) and if they end up getting added to the poster I will probably need to change my pants.

Garbage was the first band I ever traveled outside of LA area for. Saw most every Vegas, San Fran and SD show on each tour. I can't wait for this El Rey show and subsequent tour, gonna have to catch at least a few shows around the country.

I thought all 4 albums were fantastic (yes, even Bleed Like Me, though I can tell they weren't as into it at the end...). Here's the way I'd stack them.

i wondered this too and i think it was also due to the fact that it was released a few weeks after 9/11 and the state was just in an odd state of mind. i've been catching them live since 95!!! they're great and i missed their wilter show for beautifulgarbage for the aforementioned reason.

I'm pretty sure they have significantly slackened the radius clause this year. I live in San Diego and just got an email from a local venue the other day promoting a show for The Hives which is taking place between the two Coachella weekends. Only logical, if you want bands to commit to staying in the area for a week you have to let them play shows nearby, not every band is Radiohead and can just afford to take a week off. For most bands, you gotta play if you wanna make enough to not be homeless.

Radius from circumference

The radius of the circlest with perimeter (circumference) C is

r = \frac{C}{2\pi}= \frac{C}{\tau}.

[edit] Radius from area

The radius of a circle with area A is

r= \sqrt{\frac{A}{\pi}}.

[edit] Radius from three points

To compute the radius of a circle going through three points P1, P2, P3, the following formula can be used:

r=\frac{|P_1-P_3|}{2\sin\theta}

where θ is the angle \angle P_1 P_2 P_3.

This formula uses the Sine Rule.

Now they're playing in Colorado on the April 24th and 25th.

This is seriously killing me. They're playing a ton of shows but not the top festival in the US? Come on!

They just booked an Austin show on the 21st. It would definitely have to be a Friday add.

I don't think they will be added but I don't think them playing in LA makes a lick of difference with all of the other Coachella acts who are playing in Southern California around the time of the festival. Especially when their shows on the 9th and 10th of April are Goldenvoice shows.

They can't be added unless they're only playing weekend 1.

They can't be added unless they're only playing weekend 1.

Texas will be two hours ahead by then. Garbage plays their show, hops on a plane to Palm Springs, arrives to the festival at 11 pm to close out the main stage after The Black Keys, effectively bumping Swedish House Mafia to the Sahara. Take a flight back to Texas in the morning. Boom!

(Just trying to keep your hopes up :) )

It's not because of LA, it's because they're in Texas the entirety of weekend 2.

EDIT: Dammit, you already responded.

FUCK and both of their LA shows are already sold out. I can only hope they will hit this area again at the end of their tour, the El Rey is clearly too small of a venue for them, they should have played the Greek Theater or something instead.

Just got tickets to their show in Austin. This way when i get back from coachalla i have this to keep me busy from obsessing with whats going on weekend2.

i feel GV kinda dropped the ball here, would have been a great Friday act and i believe they manage the band. o well..

I'm convinced that the lack of SF date means they're going to be playing some shitty live 105 concert. fucking radio station.
