-- About the Artists --

* SHPONGLE *

Fans know Shpongle as the acclaimed electronica project that released 4 groundbreaking albums over the course of a decade to sold-out gigs worldwide. Simon Posford is now bringing the full audio & visual Shpongletron Experience to Los Angeles.
The Shpongle sound has sampled eastern ethnic instruments and western contemporary synthesizer-based psychedelic music to create a bright multi colored journey into an audio hyper reality, full of adventure and imagination. Welcome to the weird world of Shpongle, where organic harmonies and melodies blend with the most cutting edge digital effects and modern production to bring you the kind of sonic sensations that will leave you seriously Shpongled!

* RANDOM RAB *

Often referred to as “The Master of Emotion” his music is patently beautiful and melodic. With diverse influences ranging from trip-hop, classical and Arabic to bass driven compositions, his songs are considered anthemic and timeless. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, his tracks are organic, uplifting and stand on their own as a distinct genre. Listeners of all types of music can find something they can relate to in his sound. Sometimes performing solo and at other times featuring collaborative musicians, the live experience is focused on a high quality translation of sound that is simultaneously sexy and psychedelic.

* EOTO *

This duo performs 100% improvised dubstep/breakbeat/house/drum & bass/trip-hop. Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from drummers Michael Travis and Jason Hann. Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, they take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration.

I did. Got a little confused at first with all the donations left a the front entry foyer but found the reception desk in the hallway and picked up a Ticket stub to claim my poster at show's end. I didn't pickup the $5 poster they were selling at the merch booth. Awesome that Simon set this up for his show, hope more artist do the same in the future.

no it wasn't.... And no he didn't. Last nights Shpongletron performance fell short for me, especially after his set at Coachella. Truth is they gave him way too much time, 2 hours of sped up Shpongle tracks and added heavy bass. And as far as the (Live) show goes, it is on Oct. 29th but it's up in the Bay area, either san fran or oakland. Still, Shpongles first live show out here on the west coast, DO NOT MISS...!!!

deff worth the ten cans of food, best part was they let you grab it after the show was over.

best part of last night... EOTO, wow...!!! Like the Chem Bros meet Booka Shade meets LSD. Faces were melting all over the Wiltern.

^^ I thought the Bay Area show was Halloween. The date he told everyone to keep their plans open for.

I can't compare last night to his coachella set but I still thought it was a brilliant overall performance. And perhaps I didn't hear it right then last night (wearing earplugs) but it would seem a little weird to promote/mention a sf show in la. Regardless, I hope he does bring his Live band to los angeles..

he said Shpongle is coming back to California... Which isn't weird to promote considering the show last night was in California. If you look in the 'Just announced shows in San Francisco' thread, there's a photo from the show two nights ago. He projected the news on the Shpongletron, something I was waiting for last night, but I guess he felt the verbal announcement was enough.

I had a lot of fun last night. I can't really compare to Coachella since I only caught the end of the set. EOTO fuckin rocked! The poster is a cool souvenir and it was for a good cause. I am very excited about the live show, and I am going to do everything in my power not to miss it.

I was completely blown away last night. I thought his set at Coachella was sick but last night had a much more profound effect on me. I haven't danced like that in some time and certainly haven't traveled into deep space like that in a LONG time. Fucking awesome. I also can't believe how long he threw down for, wasn't expecting that.

And like it's been said, WHAT THE FUCK was up with EOTO? Jesus, those guys were fucking insane. Their ridiculous beats with flying tyrannosaurus rex's shooting bazookas for visuals? Get the fuck out of here. That definitely set the tone for the evening and really set me into high gear for Simons set. I'd love to see these guys at Coachella next year. I think everyone would.

Awesome, we need more weird shit like this in LA.

Seconded! Some of the most hilarious and awesome videos I have ever seen!

When the fuck do the live tickets go on sale? Is there any hard info online?

Oh and did Random Rab play early or something? I didn't see him and never heard what happened? Thanks. See ya in October.

Rab went on 20 minutes early, still performed for a while... way too slow though. Almost put me to sleep....

Random Rab was fantastic. Really beautiful mixes with intricate soundscapes. The party definitely moved into another gear once EOTO came on though.

I've been partying for over 12 years now and I didn't think it was possible to have an experience like that anymore. That was a special night and I feel really lucky to have been part of it.

I want to kill myself for missing this...

EOTO is going to change the EDM world. It is possible to do something more than press play or spin prroduced recordings.
