I love Dave Chappelle's "For What its Worth" at the Fillmore. Also, Jamie Fox's "I Might Need Security" is pretty hilarious.

I saw Robin Williams do stand-up once in Lake Tahoe. He was very funny and very crude. I swear he was on drugs, too.

Also: Last night, I walked up to this beautiful woman in a bar and
asked her, "Do you live around here often?" She said, "You're
wearing two different colored socks." I said, "Yes, but to me
they're the same because I go by thickness." Then she asked,
"How do you feel?" and I said, "Well, you know when you're
sitting on a chair and you lean back so you're just on two legs
then you lean too far and you almost fall over but at the last
second you catch yourself? I feel like that all the time."

hicks is probably my favorite comic next to pryor. he was funny along with insightful, a combination that doesn't happen too often. like with richard pryor, george carlin, lenny bruce, and now chris rock.

So David Cross has this bit about the dude from Inside the Actor's Studio... It's pretty scathing. Brutal... like most of his stuff.

I wonder if it came before or after their scenes in Arrested Development.... I wonder what James Lipton thinks...

one time I saw David Cross and he did this piece about God fucking Princess Di and a bunch of people got highly offended and left...unfortunately they had broken senses of humor, because it was hilarious

Great idea for a thread! I'm so relieved that no one has posted any Dane Cook. I feel almost silly posting this here, because what Izzard does is not quite stand-up; at least not tell a few jokes and do a few routines stand-up. His comedy specials are incredibly funny. The first time I saw him live my cheeks were literally aching from laughing so much by the end of the evening.

If you've never seen it, rent Dress to Kill. You'll see Izzard at the absolute height of his comedic pours. He's a pretty good actor, but he's a great comedian. This is from Dress to Kill:

Pete Holmes - LA based comedian. more well known for his voice acting of the eTrade baby. he's done a lot of work with funny or die as well. not the funniest guy on the planet, but he's my favorite comedian at the moment

saw him live once in NYC, free show w/ Zach Galifianakis to boot at housing works in SOHO.

here's his main websiteL http://www.peteholmes.com/
