In what regard, man? I think they sounded fine live regardless...

You're calling them douchebags and claiming they have huge egos and your reasoning for this is they asked the crowd not to throw shit on the stage.

Again I ask. What the fuck is wrong with you? In the regard that. 1. you don't think they should ask the crowd to not throw a hard plastic jewel case up on the stage at them and 2. that would somehow equate to a douche move.

Go ahead...

disagree

I enjoyed their set

they played a clean set that sounded good to me. If you like their music you would have liked their set.

The Sahara tent missed you....stay there

Funny, considering I've probably stepped inside the Sahara for three or four sets in the 6 years I've been to Coachella.

You actually used the word SNARKY (make that now 2 people)

are you a former Smurf?

faxman75
06-02-2011, 07:08 AM
Not wanting to get hit with a CD jewel case does not make them douchebags or egomaniacs. It does not mean they weren't happy to be there. It does not mean they lack grace.

Nothing you have stated is evidence of them being snarky over people happy to see them. Some asshole decided to have a moronic, douchebag, asshole, attention whore moment and throw his bullshit CD up on the stage and the band was distracted and could possibly get hurt or injured fucking up their entire set at the festival.

They should be grateful someone threw something at them? No. You're a retard.

really!?! That's what popped into your head

Why are you telling Aimee Mann to eat a bowl of dicks?

NoNoAge
06-02-2011, 07:13 AM
It's a reference to the time when Aimee Mann tweeted that she thought Ice T couldn't be taken seriously as an actor on Law & Order: SVU, and then he found out and started tweeting her to eat a bowl of dicks.

You left out the part where they said they've seen someone get seriously hurt from it before.

But i will agree I was like "jeez... buzzkill moment"

So you get a scratch at most. At worst? The edge hits you in the eye, but the probability of that actually happening is minute due to how small those corners are. It's like freaking out over someone hurling stuffed animals at you.

Granted I haven't watched Law & Order SVU for awhile so it could have changed, but last time I checked it was Ice T and not Ice Cube, confusing I know.

Yes, Ice T, my bad. Ice Cube played on another crime drama on CBS I believe.

I cannot believe I missed this unintentionally hilarious thread.

Moral of the story - all black people are the same guy, even when they're internationally known stars.

Secondary moral - complimenting a terrible, non-performing band who throws CDs at you while you are performing is whiny and passive aggressive.

I seriously suck at message boarding. It's my own fault.

Edit: Suddenly realize I just wrote "message boarding" as if it were a practiced activity like skateboarding and snowboarding or surfboarding.

I cannot believe I missed this unintentionally hilarious thread.

It started like two hours ago.

So, NoNoAge, can you tell us the name of your band? Do you have any gigs coming up? Maybe you could upload your demo CD somewhere so we could take a listen. Does it make you feel better to call your favorite band "No longer relevant" because they hurt your feelings?

Also, is this you leaving their set?

We're called Warewolf Weekdays and yes, that's me. http://werewolfweekdays.bandcamp.com is where you can hear our stuff and we've got upcoming shows at the House of Blues Hollywood, The Avalon and the Roxy opening up for Augastana, Palo Alto (reunion) and Carolina Liar.

I'm so confused. This is your band, but you misspelled their name?

Are you aware that there's a band called Vampire Weekend? I mean... I assume you are cousins or something. Did you go to Harvard? I assume not, based on this thread.

I thought it was douchey when Rage Against the Machine told people to stop murdering each other and pushing people into the gate at Lollapalooza, too. Like, what, you're big rock stars now so you're concerned with safety and generally cordial behavior? Sell outs.

Your worst-case scenario also doesn't include a band walking off the stage after having stuff thrown at them. I saw the Violent Femmes walk off after people wouldn't listen to them when the band asked the audience, repeatedly, not to throw stuff. The nerve of those douchebags to leave when the audience wouldn't listen!

The funny part about this entire thread and me criticizing Jimmy Eat World is that I've willingly seen them about 5 times before they played at Coachella in the past 10+ years. So basically fuck all of you for disliking my opinion because I actually have supported this band longer and more intensely than I'm guessing anyone who threw me a verbally berating side eye in here.

faxman75
06-02-2011, 11:43 AM
God you're fucking stupid. You weren't being criticized for your opinion about the fucking music you dummy, even you said they sounded good. You were being criticized for thinking artists should shut the fuck up and play regardless of what's being chucked at them from the audience.

Are we speaking verbally here? Oh, you mean... we're using verbs. You didn't mean we were speaking to one another.

Well, unless you speak to your computer, maybe you have a voice-to-text thing. I'm betting the ones who are "side eye"-ing you aren't speaking out loud. Verbally.

And to think, if you just would have throw blow jobs at them instead of razor CDs of death, you'd probably have a record contract by now. Make sure you spell your band's name right on the record, though... little things like that can be really confusing to us internet ingrates.

About 12 or so years ago I was at a one day festival and Canadian band The Philosopher Kings were playing on the main stage... Some dude chucked an orange at the lead singer in the middle of the song and like a ninja, the lead singer whipped his hand up from his guitar and caught the orange. It was both hilarious and awesome.

Now that was a douchy band. Seriously. Although catching an orange sounds pretty cool.

Why didn't you delete this one?

You know what has a really small corner? The tip of a fillet knife.

Also, I do agree, hurling stuffed animals is exactly like hurling hard plastic objects with sharp corners that have a tendency to shatter.
