Animal Collective - "Knock You Down"
Arcade Fire - Tunnels
Titus Andronicus - The Battle of Hampton Roads

I was tempted to go with KYD... but the extended(?) verse of "The sun's goin' away, you know" combined with "IRRESISTIBLE FORCE" really did it for me.

Kanye West-Say You Will
-Didn't expect to ever hear this one live after he canceled his 808 tour since it wasn't a single and he has so many hits.
Chemical Brothers-Swoon
-Very rarely have I seen visuals and music go together so perfectly
Arcade Fire-We Used to Wait
-This song just really resonates with me and it did so even more when I witnessed it live.
Bright Eyes-Old Soul Song
-I felt a great deal of nostalgia for the first time at Coachella watching sets by bands that I associate with high school such as: Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, DFA The Strokes, etc.
Cut Copy-Lights and Music
-Crowd interaction was great and only surpassed by Kanye's set.

Duran Duran- The Chauffeur
Favorite Duran song, didn't think they would play it in a festival setting. It was so amazing to hear this song with the palm trees and mountains as the background.

Arcade Fire- Sprawl II
Waited the entire set to hear this and literally had my fingers crossed that they would play it when they said the next one was their last. Perfect end to a perfect set.

Chemical Brothers- Get Yourself High/ Do it Again
The clown, the glow sticks, the crowd.

YACHT- Dystopia
Didn't know anything by these guys before friday and they completely blew me away. They do the DFA label proud. I had this song stuck in my head all weekend.

Interpol- NYC
I've been waiting since their set at Coachella '07 to hear this song live. Interpol owned that time slot.

2. WAKE UP - Arcade Fire - Those Damn Balls
3. TWO STEPS, TWICE - Foals - Didn't think they'd be able to top Afterglow and Spanish Sahara from same set...they did.
4. BATTLE OF HAMPTON ROADS/TITUS ANDRONICUS FOREVER - last 20 minutes of this set were phenomenal
5. TAOS - Menomena - My favorite ass-kicker track of 2010 kicking ass in 2011

[B]Interpol- NYC
I've been waiting since their set at Coachella '07 to hear this song live. Interpol owned that time slot.

They really did. I'm not much of an Interpol fan but I was very impressed with their set and just seemed perfect watching them while the sun set and the sky turned black.

I really didn't think they could impress me as much as they did in '07, especially without Carlos, but they hit the ball out of the park. And NYC came out of left field, one of those moments you can only imagine happening at Coachella.

Tallest Man On Earth - The Dreamer...he doesn't play it that often and I had written it off, and then it just happened.
Nas - One Mic
Chromeo - Bonafide Lovin'...ridiculous energy from the crowd in my area
Erykah Badu - Didn't Cha Know (also because of the speech she gave before about how this is the song she was most excited to sing to us)
The Twelves - Help I'm Alive Remix...the "as long as I'm alive / what shouldn't I do" part just hit me at exactly the right moment and made me feel really happy and uplifted the rest of the day.

It's funny, those weren't necessarily my all time favorite performances of the festival either, but those specific songs left the biggest impact.

And my favorite song that I missed has to be Cut Copy "Lights and Music". Just saw a ridiculously high quality fan video on Youtube and the crowd is going fucking insane. I am actually near crying with jealousy and stupidity that I went with my friend to Marina and the Diamonds (her favorite band, she's Welsh) instead as a compromise for some other set I wanted to see. Next year I'm being 150% selfish, compromising for friends leads to nothing good.

I am apparently physically incapable of limiting the awesomeness I saw to just 5, I can't even limit it to 5 a day. I had really good luck this year with catching "the" songs I really wanted to hear, even at partial sets.

Friday:
Black Joe Lewis - Bitch, I Love You
Ms. Lauryn Hill - Ex Factor
Cold War Kids - Audience, Royal Blue, Hang Me Up To Dry
Marina and The Diamonds - I am Not a Robot (although I really wanted to hear OH NO!, but had to leave early to get to Black Keys. Anyone know if she played it?)
Black Keys - Tighten Up, Your Touch
The Drums - Let's Go Surfing
Robyn - Be Mine!

Saturday
Gogol Bordello - Start Wearing Purple, Not a Crime
Jenny and Johnny - Carpetbaggers
Yelle - Je Veux Te Voir
Mumford & Sons - Blank White Page
Scissor Sisters - Filthy Gorgeous, Kiss You Off
Arcade Fire - Crown of Love <3
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake it's Morning
The Swell Season - Low Rising
Empire of the Sun - Swordfish Hotkiss Night
Elbow - Neat Little Rows
Delta Spirit - People C'mon

Sunday
Eliza Doolittle - Runaway (Kayne cover)
MEN - Credit Card Babie$
CSS - Music Is My Hot Hot Sex (Obviously), also like that new (?) one that went I love you, i love you too! Haha.
Ellie Goulding - Everytime You Go
Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus
Best Coast - Boyfriend
The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio, Slow Show
Chromeo - Don't Turn The Lights On, Tenderoni
The Strokes - Someday, Take it or Leave it, Juicebox
Kanye West - Power, Gold Digger, All of the Lights, Monster (I take back any shit talkage, my ass really did like a lot of his set)

She definitely did, although I was so gone by that point I don't remember where it was in the set. Friends dragged me to her set and that was the only song I know by her and I remember her playing it. She was actually pretty good live, great stage presence and her voice was good too, I'm still bummed I missed Cut Copy for her though.

Yeah she was fun, what I saw of her, I gave her the best outfit award....

Until Empire of the Sun came along and stole her thunder. Bummed I missed that song. Also bummed I missed Cut Copy too. That little 3 way conflict was one of the hardest for me all weekend and hearing people rave about Lights and Music makes me sad. Love that song. But I had seen Cut Copy once before and hadn't seen Marina or Black Keys.

Hah outfits, she did a costume change at some point near the end. She reminded me of an indie Lady Gaga. We somehow managed to make the last few Black Keys songs, but really Cut Copy is the one I'm still depressed about.

Kings of Leon - Velvet Snow (I NEVER thought they would play this in their set but it was amazing when they did)
Chromeo - I Could Be Wrong (bringing out Ezra for this blew my mind, I fell in love with Vamp Wknd after last year's Coachella, plus his Sax solo rocked)
Tame Impala - Half Full Glass of Wine (great version of this, it's the perfect song to be extended like that)
Mumford & Sons - The Cave (they NAILED this song, their energy translates perfectly to live performances, and all of their songs seemed better than on the CD, which isn't true of many artists)
