I was walking briskly from the new food court side exit to Outdoor Stage to catch PJ Harvey when Leftfield stopped me dead in my tracks. The stage show looked awesome & the music was incredible. They were amazing. You picked up a new fan.

What was your "who the fuck is that" moment?

Lightning Bolt

definitely, these two for me. though, i'd sort of looked into lightning bolt a bit before the fest, they totally blew my expectations out of the water.

Glasser. still a little puzzled by who they are.

glasser is mostly cameron mesirow (vocalist lady). she writes and arranges pretty much everything. not that her band aren't fantastic musicians. she's just the mastermind behind it all.

her debut lp, 'ring', is freaking amazing. it flows BEAUTIFULLY from one song to the next, and if you put it on repeat, it doesn't feel like it ever ends. rather, it kind of leads itself back to the beginning. glorious. the way she danced out a few seconds into the first song, then danced out a bit before the last one ended makes me think it was with intent, to sort of mirror the arc of the album. (sorry, couldn't resist pun.)

i was telling my wife who i wanted to see that day and i explained EE as "a goofy art *** Korean nightmare" based on the 2 and a half youtube videos i watched.

...and i was totally right! the male dancers made my fucking day, especially the scrawny little spandex guy. what was intended as a time waster ended up being one of my favorite sets

Chromeo - I'm so glad I caught the last bit while I was heading over for PJ Harvey.

Also, I had to stop and dance in the DoLab several times. No idea who was playing.

Seeing/hearing Jonathan Davis of Korn take Skillex's racket to new lows from the beer garden was quite the WTF moment. Heavy on the lulz, too.

Walking into the end of Lightning Bolt was my "WTFIT" moment. The drummer was insane.

I was stumbling around the campgrounds on the last night and some how found myself being dragged in to Supertall Paul's latenight ukulele performance in his hut/sound stage by the skating rink. I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck was going on in there but it was definitely weird and amazing.

I was pretty much ready for any surprises over the weekend, but I still had a, "Who the fuck is that" moment as we passed the main stage at the end of Sunday night...Somebody really needed to get up on that stage and take the mic away from that headliner.

I was REALLY happy with their set. Great start to the week for me. My only complaint was that they didn't play long enough to work in their cover of Kylie's Confide in Me.

MEN, no doubt. Did they decide to form a group from their dungeons and dragons club? Who thought the pink hats joined by pink PVC pipe was a good idea? The bass player looked like the gay fat brother of the lead singer of 2D Cinema Club. The lead singer looked like the weekend manager at Game Stop. Having said, I stuck around for about four songs -- 1 part getting out of the sun, 1 part witnessing a train wreck and 1 part actually intrigued a bit by the sound. Not bad.

Glasser. Without a doubt.

I was first coming up on my trip under the red and yellow pagoda shade structure, when I heard her singing "Home" from afar. It sounded it like it was echoing throughout the fields. I thought an angel was speaking to me. It was incredible...

New Pants and MEN!!!

Knew of MEN because I love Le Tigre and Bikini Kill but was NOT expecting that. Caught almost the whole show and stayed for CSS, thought it was amazing. True art/femrock. totally crazy. I'm buying the album. Kept looking for SIA cuz the lead singer for MEN and she are dating. sHe was there last year, when Sia finished her set, sHe was backstage waiting for her and they ran hand in hand to the VIP tent right behind. cute.

New Pants, holy shit. so funny and great. Last call!

I went to both the Cut Copy and Empire of the Sun sets on purpose, but had no idea what I was getting into.

Absolutely stunning sets from both. The bonkers crowds certainly helped.
