you people raggin cuz of Stacy's Mom wouldn't know parody if it smacked you between the eyes with a 2x4. FOW is a good band with sharp well-written songs, some intelligence, and a good dose of wit.

Do they take themselves seriously? Not in the least. Are they fun and clever? absolutely.

so quit your ragging and pull that stick out of your ass you uptight bunch of nervous indie hipsters.

Yeah, gotta love bland pop-rock songs that everyone's heard a thousand times before, and better.

they are a decent band in the mold of early barenaked ladies, but the new pornographers do power-pop better at coachella this year. i hear the new FoW album MIGHT be good this year.

"I brought a 38 Special CD collection, and some Bactine to prevent infection." (while getting a tattoo)

"Each time you curse at girls, you curse a little at yourself."

"I wonder if he ever has cried, because his kitten got run over and died." (in reference to a "Biker dude")

"Ever since you hung up on me, I'm hung up on you."

"Will you stop pretending I've never been born? Now I look a little more like that guy from Korn." (after getting the aforementioned tattoo)

"Halley's waitress never comes around....and when she finally appears, it's like she's been away for years."

"I used to fly for United Airlines. Then I got fired for reading High Times."

"...soon we'll say goodbye, then we'll work until we die." (from "Prom Theme")

"I didn't mean to make the trendy guy mad..." (in reference to a Coachella attendee, I assume)

Boourms if they had an award on the board for the board member with hands-down the worst taste in music, you'd win in a runaway. Your condemnation of FOW only serves to bolster my case.

I love FoW.From what I've managed to hear of the new album,I predict "Planet of Weed" will be a crowdpleaser.Their first album is still criminally under-appreciated.

Fountains Of Wayne are excellent songwriters, and also do a very strong live show. Welcome Interstate Managers was my 3rd favourite album of 2003. Now all we need is Ivy to be added.

Between "Denise" and "Maureen" they've got the girl-titled pop song down to perfection. Can't wait to see them!!!
