Too bad the adverts turned them into a bumper sized billboard... They should have simply said "HAPPY COACHELLA" and maybe a more desert theme colour choice and/or background...

HAPPY COACHELLA!!!

I certainly appreciate the Happy Coachella. You guys interviewed me as a fan in 2008 by the Mojave and I got a neat sticker. I will be sure to wish you a Happy Coachella when I see you.

Cool man! We are just trying to spread the good vibes.

Not sure why anyone cares about the advertising. We are just supporting a local venue and giving the link to our website... Not sure why that would bother anyone.

"Hey, take a flier!"

"Fuck you."

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 03:26 PM
They aren't fliers... they're stickers and I won't be forcing them on anyone or asking them to take them. People find us and ask for them.

Just spreadin the vibes man...

TommyboyUNM
04-07-2011, 03:26 PM
Hey, shaggy, can you post your Happy Coachella video again? I want to know who to seek out and tell to fuck off when he offers me a sticker. That would make it a happy Coachella for me.

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 03:27 PM
You don't need a video. You'll know us if you see us. We'll be the one's telling you Happy Coachella and handing out stickers.

Come talk shit if you want. You'll just look like a dick

LOL... my 5,000 stickers will be less than .0001% of the garbage accumulated at the Festival this year.

malcolmjamalawesome
04-07-2011, 03:30 PM
... and 100% more garbage than someone not bringing stickers.

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 03:31 PM
What's great is that people in real life actually love the stickers. It's only the dickheads that troll the forums that "hate" them.

You honestly believe I would keep doing this every year if people hated them?

malcolmjamalawesome
04-07-2011, 03:32 PM
Provide specific examples of people "loving the stickers."

Nicole from KROQ is an avid supporter of the HAPPY COACHELLA greeting and the stickers.

Also, we give them out to people every year with few left over, because we want to save a few.

People email us every year after the festival asking if they can get more or if they couldn't find us how they can get one. We mail them out after if you didn't find us at the festival.

Just spreadin the vibes man...

No way dude, you're doing this all for promotion and in no way 'just spreading the vibes' - this a total selfish PR campaign.
Print your company/website on the back of these things and have it read just "Happy Coachella" and you'll be 'just spreading the vibe'

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 03:51 PM
LOL

First of all... it costs more money to print on the back.

Second of all... my "company" is a website I run as a hobby about live music and the people who attend. It makes no money. The only reason Key Club is repped on the sticker is because they gave us a FREE billboard on the Sunset Strip in exchange.

http://www.bryanduckworth.com/HAPPYCOACHELLAbillboard.jpg

Third of all... how is this selfish? People aren't being forced to take a sticker and as I mentioned already, people like them in real life.

TommyboyUNM
04-07-2011, 03:51 PM
This is the same dickhead that wants to bring in some sort of boom box. Just spreadin the vibes. Man.

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 03:53 PM
Yep, same dick head. I'm a nice dood in real life... so if you really think I suck, please tell me to my face if you see me.

You will be greeted with smiles, good vibes and bountiful supplies.

instead of being so defensive i think you should take heed of what we're all telling you, it's all just helpful advice my friend

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 04:13 PM
what advice is anyone giving me?

This is the 4th Year I am doing this. Every year people talk shit on the message board, but when I wind up at the Polo Field I never have enough sticker to give all the people who want them.

knotted_donuts
04-07-2011, 04:26 PM
Ohh hey, I remember YTC from Ghostland/Flaming Lips at the Greek in LA a couple years back... in fact, you're probably the guy I sold my extra pit ticket to for $20 outside the gates.

As far as the stickers go, I like the idea. I've gotta admit, though, the advertising is a bit obnoxious... particularly the Key Club part, for me. As far as including their name on the sticker in exchange for the free billboard, they did a damn poor job at upholding their end of the bargain. Who's gonna know what "YTC" means on that board? For them, it's just a flashy, eye-catching billboard design that they didn't have to pay for. Perhaps you should change their portion of the sticker to read simply "KC."

Anyway, don't take what I said as an attack... In fact, I hope to run into you guys @ Coachella! Cheers!

shaggyduck
04-07-2011, 04:28 PM
Knotted, thanks for the insight! The stickers are already printed, but we will definitely take this into account for next year. In terms of our logo... we mainly just wanted to increase brand awareness. Even if people don't know what YTC is, at least they will see the logo and eventually make the connection.

I think you sold the Pit Ticket to my partner at YTC, Lorn. Thanks! That show was amazing!!!

See you on the Polo Fields! HAPPY COACHELLA!

Why is the sticker so gross? The sticker is pretty ugly if that's what you mean. (too lazy to read through the whole thread, sorry)
