Hi Coachellistas,

I called early today to the Best Western Hotel in 81909 Indio Boulevard, Indio, CA, 92201-2038 and they are sold out of rooms...but they told me that the hotel are renting his hotel field for $40.00 the spot and you can use the 24hrs pool, restroom, intercontinental breakfast and all hotel facilities plus they are going have a shuttle from the hotel to the Coachella.

NICE DEAL FOR $40.00 ea day. Anyone know any other hotel doing that???

Camping with tent!!

That sounds like a deal.

40 bucks a day? Sounds like a profiteer considering if camping passes were $45 for 4 nights. I guess a 400% markup is to be expected though.

Yeah, but they have a pool, you can bring liquor, they have food and Bjork will still stop by my tent on Friday night.

Alright, so I just called, they actually said there is no limit on space, it's a huge huge lot and they did this last year too. They play coachellaesque music and the shuttle will be going to and from the fest every 15 minutes all day according to the guy I talked to. Also they have a shower in the gym that people take turns using and last year they left one room available for showering as well.

There is no camping on Thursday night but FRiday - Sunday night. He kept saying how it's a very laid back fun time with a hotel full of coachella fans and the pool enormous and open 24-7 as well as the Jacuzzi. Also free cereal in the morning for everyone.

VERRRRY Tempting!!

Yeah, I defenetly just booked this as well. They said there are still tons of spots and they told me that I could get a spot for four nights 26-29.I'm very excited! I think this sounds like the sweetest deal around.

faxman75
03-11-2007, 08:28 PM
Really? They said they couldn't do 4 nights because they still had rooms on Thursday night for $300 wowza. Maybe they booked the last rooms and now have camping too for Thursday. Hmm. I'm a bit conflicted. If I can sell my onsight camping ticket for $200 bucks I would rather do this best western thing.

i just booked ten minutes ago... the lady had a few things to say - firstly the $40 is for up to four people, but not nessecarily only one tent.

secondly the camping is only for fri and sat nights... there are rooms available. i booked a room for sun night for four people (two queen beds and noon check out) all up it has cost $350 divided four ways-- not too bad really

sorry did somebody say 24hour pool and no fun police???

he he he somebody pass me a beer

theguru
03-12-2007, 04:07 PM
hotels are usually like that... maybe i should have asked to speak to the manager... dont care tho, the room on sunday cost 280 bucks with tax but somehow i think after three days of coachella topped of with RAGE the bed and airconditioning and shower and noon check out will be worth every single cent.

Interesting, I asked a few times as well and the guy I talked to had been working there for a couple years. I'm guessing though as long as you are booked you are probably good for all 4 nights. If I can sell my onsight for what this is costing me I may seriously consider a switch for the less crowdedness and shuttle and the damn 24/7 pool!!

dunno about the "less crowdedness", if you check out the best western site you can get an arial pic of the place - there is a grassy patch out the front near the pool, apparently that is where they stick us. the woman laughed when i asked how many people they fit on there and said something along the lines of " you wont believe how many people fit"

the pool will definately be worth the switch tho. if only there were a set of decks poolside...

As far as it getting crowded at the Best WEstern i'm sure there can't be much more room than coachella where I think we had less than 5 feet between tents.

I keep saying we but I still have an onsight camping pass, unless I ebay it i'll probably stick to onsight.

One question I neglected to ask them,is if you get a camping pass for only those two days, how do they stop people from using the shuttle/pool/showers Sunday evening? Is it a colored wristband deal,or keycards to get into the grounds?Does anyone know?(Sunday evening sitting in the Jacuzzi and jumping in the pool after the whole weekend/Rage thing sounds like great therapy!)

i'd be pissed if i booked a $300 a night room and all of a sudden there are a bunch of campers taking over the pool and eating my $300 breakfast!! just kidding!

i stayed there in '04 and it was nice, but we woke up kinda late and all the breakfast was gone both days we stayed, so if you want free food get there early.

one piece of advise: don't stay up all night drinking and sitting in the jacuzzi...the next day after i did, i spent a good part of the day at the festival crashed out on the shady grass in vip letting the jack daniels sweat out of my body in the 107 degree heat. pace yourselves!

Does anyone have a reservation for the best western they might not use, or have a reservation they would split with two other people? I know that the 40 is supposed to be good for 4 people per night so maybe if there is anyone who is paying for 40 for a spot and would split the spot and cost with you. Or pay for most of the spot that we would share. Please message or email me if you would like to do this.

If you are I would be interesting in splitting your spot with you, since the amount of space you are alotted is kinda vague and you will have to pay $40 even if its just one person, I would like to pay for the majority of your camping reservation and split your spot with you. After talking to numerous people when I tried to double check that my reservation was right...with all of them telling me different things; they didnt have me on the list for camping etc etc. I asked to talk to the manager. I suggest if anyone has important questions to do so, because no one else knows very much. He told me he wasnt even sure exactly how much the shuttle was going to be, but it would be around 10 bucks. He also said trying to get on the shuttle is sort of hectic so if you are around early apparently there is a sign up sheet or something. He also said its usually awesome and they will be providing water and sunscreen for campers!

4) I come back, use that money to shuttle my ass up there.

Pretty sweet. I'll definitely make a sign.

Onsite Camp
Pro: Next to the field, no lines, no parking problems(if you have car), meet more people, get the 100% Coachella experience.
Cons: Afew restroom to 1,000+ campers, you need to have your entire camping equipment, much more crowded, if you want rest you will need earplugs, no pool, no licor store next to you.

Best Western
Pro: Less crowed more comfortable, a real toilet, showers, pool, you have the from desk if something goes wrong and at least tell'em fuck you men, licor store next to you, if you want fuck is more easy(and if you get some girl with staying with room BINGO!), and at least water and bread in the morning.
Cons: Need transportatios and money for the transportation as well, the line at the coachella, the parking if you have car.

Anyway both sites have the same final...COACHELLA!!!! :thu

If someone is still looking for a camping spot,I just now this minute called and cancelled my reservation for this,so unless there's a waiting list one spot just came open. The phone number is: (760)347-3421
It's $40.00 a night (i only had Sat and Sun night).
Pretty good deal.

Hey guys,

Is time to call and confirm your onsite camping reservation. They (Best Western) still have room for thursday at $159.00 + taxes. I found a good price to thursday in the "Indian Wells Resort" for 79.00 + taxes around 10-15 min from the Coachella.

See you there!:bump
