I try to limit myself making these types of threads, but I can't help it. Does anyone else have a problem with Friday being insanely packed with talent? There are legitimately 20 artists I want to check out on Friday.

I would rather have that than have next to nothing to see on Saturday. Saturday is just very boring for me. I have checked out every artist on Saturday and there are no....ugh, I'm done with this post.....

anyone else feel the same?

Saturday is, by far, the most stacked day for me. Far too many acts I want to see.

Saturday is definitely going to be a clusterfuck for me. But hey, one less day you have to worry about conflicts and more time to enjoy the vibes of bands you stumble across!

yeah I totally agree. I'm particularly concerned with Friday night, I can envision a schedule where 4 acts I really want to see are on simultaneously. No danger of that on Saturday.

pretty much exactly. Saturday has a couple-Foals, Suede, EE, Cults, maybe Empire of the Sun, maybe Wire, but compared to Friday and Sunday it's pretty sparse.

hopefully Foals will be at the autograph tent. that'll kill some time

There are no single day tickets.
I dont think people are gonna say "fuck it" and go to the movies in La Quinta that day instead.

Whoa, theres a movie theater nearby?

Initially I felt the same for Saturday as well..11 artists i count after doing some research, but im more than fine with that. Sometimes it's good to have a relaxing period of the evening to check out the art or walk back to your campsite to drink/eat

Plus sometimes you dont feel a band on record, then they amaze you live, then you go back to the records and they sound better.

Agreed. If the contest schedule were the actual sked, I'd be super frustrated - every band I want to see has at least one conflict leading up to the Cold Cave/Interpol/Robyn/Cut Copy clusterfuck, then nothing from 9-12 when Gayngs goes on.

Lots of bands I like Saturday but I've seen most of them before, either in SF or at prior Coachellas. Only priority is Suede.

Yeah I'm kinda in the same boat. Saturday and Sunday I got like 10 each day but Friday is like "holy shit"... I know I'm not seeing everyone I wanna see on Friday, but I know I won't be disappointed.

Everyday is really stacked for me but if I had to rank them in order of bands that I really want to see it would be
Friday
Sunday
Saturday

even though this is a lame thread (sorry, op) I would like to say that after getting to know the lineup more and more, it really is a solid year.

Yes, after the research i've done, i'd say the entire weekend is equally packed

The only way I can see Saturday being disappointing is if you only like EDM.

I 100% agree. Friday destroys, Saturday I care about perhaps 3 artists. I'm kinda down for a mad hectic friday followed by a chill saturday where I can discover new artists and do other stuff I wouldn't perhaps have time for.

saturday is the most packed day for me.
sunday's a little light, but I plan to catch kanye, strokes, and duran, and I'll be happy as hell.

Friday is definitely way too stacked. There's still a healthy share of bands I'm looking forward to seeing on Saturday, but I can already tell I really won't have any conflicts.

ON the contrary. The only acts I like playing on Saturday are EDM acts. I just wish some good non edm bands were playing saturday like best coast, !!!, black joe lewis, black keys, menomana. All I got to look forward to is empire of the sun and animal collective, which isnt much at all

I don't like either band one bit, but Cold Cave is direct support for Interpol on that tour so it's tough to imagine them playing at the same time.

No, but then I Sense your a Sahara tent fan, and the Sahara rarely if ever, factors into my Coachella plans...for me Sunday until the evening hours is as weak a lineup as I've ever seen, but Sunday night looks epic.

Saturday actually has my most dieing to see acts that I've never caught before...Elbow, Foals, Tallest Man On Earth, New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, Animal Collective, Big Audio Dynamite, Wire...but do agree with you that in terms of just acts I'd like to see, Friday is by far the must overstuffed.

Agree about Sunday, maybe I haven't done enough research but I don't find anything really worth drooling over until the evening most likely, Sunday is the weakest in my opinion.

My days are fairly well balanced for 2011. Since they went to the three day format, Fridays have always been my favorite days, while Sundays always seem to be the least stacked for me. But that's when I discover something new (like Rodrigo y Gabriela in 2007).

Saturday is by FAR the most packed. Sunday is the lightest.
