What are the chances of getting tickets outside the event? Or the layaway tickets that don't get finalised being re-released?

Is anyone selling a ticket?

Thanks

Your best bet coming all that way is to buy a 3-day pass on the secondary market through http://www.eBay.com or http://www.stubhub.com .

Last year there were very few if any passes being resold outside the event, and they commanded a premium price ($750+ US). This year it will be even more difficult to sell passes outside the event due to a new one-mile security perimeter, although I *suspect* there will be more scalpers (re-sellers) this year. You should be able to find a pass for around $550-600 US from sellers on the above listed websites.

There *will* be tickets outside the event. Last year, we scored some from a (professional) scalper in the parking lot on Friday early afternoon for $400 after walking about with a "tickets wanted" sign for awhile. And the $400 we paid was the going rate for this kind of transaction in 2010. AFAIK, the guy in the picture got lucky also (he was gone after about two hours).
Seeing you're from the UK and this will be a trip requiring somewhat more planning than just hopping in the car and driving over, I would not bet on getting tickets in front of the gate, though and buy one off ebay.
Wait with buying until the wristbands have shipped (rumors say three weeks before the show) so the seller actually has something tangible to show.

Thanks guys, I make take the approach of the guy in the picture :)

Yeah it was all planned but I relied on someone else to get my ticket………definitely the last time i'll rely on other people to sort my tickets out :(

I’ll be road tripping it with some friends that have tickets then if I don’t get a ticket I’ll just meet up with the guys that didn’t get tickets, fingers crossed I get one though. Not sure if I get one from ebay whether to chance it getting delivered in time as I’ll be in America from 7th April so not sure if it will get delivered in time

This likely will not be the case again. Last year Coachella had massive hand scanner malfunctions and ticket takers were just grabbing your ticketfast tickets, ripping them and slapping a wristband on you. Quite a few of those TF tickets were sold multiple times over because of this for a quick cash grab before the scanners were fixed.
