Did anyone see those two poor guys getting run over by a golf-cart in the camping area last year?

I've been wondering if they're okay...

Story:
Last year when I was eating breakfast, a guy accidentally backed over two people with his golf cart. They didn't look like they were doing that well and they had to be hauled off by medical personnel. I felt bad for everyone involved, even the driver who clearly made an honest mistake...

Note to self. Throw myself at any moving vehicle at Coachella.

Yeah, I was right there... incredibly surreal. And I didn't even get to shower!

I didn't get to shower at all at the fest with those lines.

Those lines were awful. I didn't get to shower until I got back to Detroit. I still feel bad for the people around me on the plane. Bringing my own shower this year...

pretty sure it came out that the driver was high at the time.

I remember thinking about how screwed the driver would be if he had anything in his system...even using weeks prior. Running some people over would almost certainly mean an immediate mandatory drug test. Cops seemed to be treating him nicely though.

When/where did this come out?

Was it really a golf cart? My friends were there and I thought it was something a little bigger.

It was definitely not a gold cart the more I think about it. The cart/truck was pretty heavy duty, not a street car but it was being used to move ice and other random stuff. It had a pretty heavy back-end and it looked like it would do more damage than a golf cart.

I camp with one of the guys that got hit last year, and they are still in the middle of some sort of legal thing with GV I believe. We all got VIP passes last year after he was hit, and were under the impression him and his girlfriend would be getting lifetime passes it has not happened yet. He purchased a ticket just like all of us.

So your buddy was still able to stay for the fest after getting run over? What a badass. I'm surprised GV didn't just settle quickly after the fact. Is he doing okay now after the accident?

I did see the the cart hit the two guys. In fact I was driving a cart myself at the exact moment they were hit. I slowed to turn the corner in front of the line for food when the guy put the cart in reverse and hit them. Myself and a couple of other people jumped onto the guys cart and shut it off and pulled the driver out of the cart. I thought he might have been drunk or high, but I think what happened was he freaked out driving through the crowd and hit the gas in reverse and people started to slap and hit the sides of the cart due to the fact that he was trying to drive right where people were standing in line waiting for food. I think he thought he was going to get mobbed by the crowd and freaked out. trying to get out of the crowd. Thats when he started to run into people. Three people were hurt and ran over. It was a really helpless feeling seeing the three people get ran over. By far it is the worst thing Ive ever seen happen at Coachella in the 10 years ive worked the festival. People need to be careful while driving the carts.
