Coachella Festival Pass $281
Car Camping $85
Added Together=
$366 Total

In order to be prepared to buy layaway tickets in December 2011,
you need to be saving $34 a month for the next 11 months.
Start your own personal lawaway now and ensure you have the funds to go to Coachella 2012

Layaway, means you should have maybe $80 ready, so $8 a month for the next 11 months means you get it. Oooops, I win.

You have the $80 ready then what happens when you have to pay another $80 or so in a month...you don't have another 11 months to save .....................................

so that's a smidge over a dollar a day.

before ppl start bitching, think about it like this:

everytime you feel like going out to lunch/dinner, ask yourself: "Is this burrito worth not going to coachella?"

Quit Smoking. I just quit, saving approx. $6 a day. in a year that would pay for coachella alone. easily.

drink cheap domestic beer. then you can drink all the fancy beer you want come april.

subscribe to blogs like lifehacker and the consumerist. watch slickdeals. be careful though, don't buy things simply because it's on sale.

EDIT:

fore go espresso drinks and brew good coffee at home and use a thermos. is it like having a sugary latte? no, but again, enjoy a latte everyday or coachella? you choose.

This is what I was thinking about when I did the math. Plus you would have the all the money ready to go and not have to worry about not having the funds on the 1st.

I think this could be a valuable lesson for some of the kiddies or anyone on a tight budget that tends to not think ahead. $30 in a month isn't a lot. Just about anyone can swing that. Shit, I may camp at El Dorado next year!!
