Anyone have any recommendations for an amazing drummer/percussionist that's a must see.

So you have an idea of what I like, last year I was mesmerized by Doddi from Jonsi and Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree.

Any suggestions?

The drummer for Menomena tears it up! He also sings a few songs which is interesting to watch.

THE NATIONAL.

The first time I saw them at Sasquatch 08 the drummer was wearing a tshirt that read "The Greatest" and that was all. The words rang true. So far my favourite drumwork of any band.

i am really excited to see The National for the first time; the drumming on Boxer is so solid and so forefront on that record, it's delicious.

The drummer from the National and Cold War Kids have a somewhat similar style.

Thanks people, I've been looking at some of the stuff.
Jon Theodore definitely, I didn't know he was drumming for One Day as a Lion, even more reason not to miss that.

Omar Rodriguez <---- Had never heard of em, but that's what this is all about right? Looks great

Shpongle, I had seen some of the interesting things they do on youtube like that hang drum solo, that was nuts.

Thanks, keep em coming

I think Brian Devendorf (of The National) is the best drummer on the lineup.

edit: just saw that others already mentioned Brian, i'm very happy to see some people agree with me for a change

definitely The National. he's creative, original and tasteful. i love watching him because he sounds busier than he looks playing.

here is a drum cover of one of their songs:

Warpaint's drummer is a chick drummer, and shreds and grooves like mad.

don't be discouraged by the interview, it's only like 20 seconds long
