Last year there were just over 130 bands. This year there is just over 180. That's mean they've got to fit 3 more bands on each stage per day. Is that even possible?

Could they be adding an additional stage this year? And if so where would they put it?

Desert Sun article says they expanded the polo grounds this year, they annexed some neighboring property so stages may even be further apart. Hopefully this helps with the doLab bleed problem.

Remember when they "expanded" the field last year to accommodate an additional 15,000 people? All that meant was pushing a few of the stages back a few yards and adding a ton more camping spaces to accommodate the sleeping arrangements of the additional glut of bodies.

I would like to see a venue map before I feel relieved that the expansion would serve any purpose to those inside the venue hoping for a better experience than last year.

Yes, totally agree. I think though with RV camping gone there may actually be a difference.

I could be wrong but going through the line-up it looked like there were a lot more electronic/DJ artists. Could they be listing Do-Lab/Dome names this year?

There's the "Pure Filth" stage, which appears to be dubstep/DNB heavy.

No, the Pure Filth stage is being added which will consist mostly of DnB and Dubstep. The Sahara gets to go back to being the tent it used to be.

That is not entirely accurate, GuyInTucson - unless you mean go back to being filled with cheesy shit from time to time because there will still be a good amount of dubstep in the Sahara.

I am not a dubstep fan, but even if I was, I don't think it fits well in the Sahara. I actually DO like Drum N Bass a lot and feel the same way.

The PureFilth stage is a great idea, IMO.

I am not a fan of a lot of the dubstep artists that look to be playing in the Sahara. After Sam of PF posted which artists will be playing PF stage it left a few brostep type names to play elsewhere (Magnetic Man, Skrillex, Excision). I am a huge fan of a lot of the PF stage artists - dnb, bass/beat music, and more intelligent and deeper dubstep with the occasional name I'm not too fond of.

was it a joke the last two years they had a Pure Filth stage? the only difference is the names (or at least that stage's TOP acts) are on the poster this year..

and they're more utilizing the curfew extension, while probably starting the stages at noon each day..

the added field space also includes the lake camping area west of the pavilion..

The Pure Filth stage is a great idea. Now I'm gonna know how the douchey ravers who spend all day at the sahara feel.
