Or are a lot of you too young to remember Bright Eyes?

This should be big news here.

and with good reason. surprised they are billed so high - but I guess they compare to M&S and Animal Collective.

Surprised? They are one of the greatest folk bands of our time, and this is probably the last chance most people will have to see Bright Eyes before Conor retires the band.

If it said Desparaceidos Id be geeked.
I could never get into Bright Eyes tho.
I wasnt even aware they'd hiatus'd.
Is it even a band or just Conor + musicians?

The problem is that there are like 6 Bright Eyes threads. Can we please choose one now?

I was only 12 y/o when Desaparecidos formed but I remember they were cool, lost their progress though.

It's Conor + musicians. he just changes his name for each project. Bright Eyes' sound was very varied. i'm pretty excited about this.

I love everything Conor does Lifted and beyond. Just give us a few Digital Ash gems!

some of us are old enough to remember just exactly how much bright eyes blows.

Very stoked for this. Never thought I'd get a chance to see them. Anyone who says Bright Eyes sucks just doesn't have an appreciation for passion/emotion in art.

Fixed.

instead of starting a Bright Eyes thread on your own, you instead started a thread whining that no one had started one for you.

Even Conor Oberst would find that wimpy as all fuck.

I wanted a Bright Eyes thread in the line-up section, but I didn't want to start one....so thanks for that.

Bright Eyes was my biggest wish for this year and I can't wait to see them. I saw them years ago right when Wide Awake/Digital Ash came out, and they played all of Digital Ash, but at the time I wasn't very familiar with the songs. This is the one act I will try to get right up front for. Every time I listen to Bright Eyes I feel like I am back in high school.... all the good and all the bad.

so...

Unfathomably excited. If there is one show that I refuse to be anywhere but the front for, it's this one. This was my biggest wish for this year too and I'm trying to arrange some sort of ego death at the end of the show where I can graduate to the 4th dimension with The People's Key instructing me in the background. I pre-ordered the album, so 9 more days till I get the full thing ;)

I am really really hoping for no Bright Eyes/Arcade Fire/Animal Collective conflicts, but it is probably inevitable

I think we'll be ok, or else I'll have a very nasty letter to write.

Maybe not those 3, but Broken Social Scene will probably conflict with one of them...First time seeing all 4 so it's gonna be hard.

I think we're ok on all four. I'm a little worried about phosphorescent and Gogol and Jenny Lewis but those I can deal with.

Saw Conor play with the Monsters of Folk in Louisville last Halloween. While I'm not so much into his music, he is an amazing musician. I would imagine a Bright Eyes show would be pretty good.

My biggest regret is watching Bright Eyes instead of Black Star in 05. What a boring/shitty set that was. It would take absolutely no conflicts for me to trust Conor again. Probably not going to happen.
