Gotta say; love the evolution of this band. Their first album put me to sleep, but Total Life Forever is a beautiful grower.

I've been looking forward to seeing this band live for a few years so I'm REALLY excited for them

you people do understand that the size of the font has nothing to do with your opinion of a band. Two totally unrelated, statistically independent events. No correlation whatsoever. got it? now shut the fuck up you whiny dipshits.

yea there are a lot of bands i found in the smaller font that i was like, whoa!
i wonder if there are bands that say things like, "we're not playing unless we are size 16 font, man!"

The size of both Wire and Elbow indicates to me that font size has more to do with a strategic marketing decision for attracting a certain type of crowd, than anything else.

Saw them in Vancouver in November, one of the highlights of 2010 for me, and that included all the bands I saw at Coachella in 2010!

The billing is appropriate. THey're still playing pretty small venues in the states. But I suspect that will change after they hit the festival circuit this summer, because as you said they are, in fact, bloody amazing.

One of the must not miss sets of the weekend! I just hope they put them in a tent at night, and they don't make the same mistake they made with XX last year by putting them in the sun in the afternoon.

I saw them at the El Rey and was just in awe! Foals put on an amazing performance, that was one of the best shows of 2010! Yannis was literally everywhere during their set. So happy they are even on the line-up!

I thought that too at first, but it was actually kinda nice. sun setting and being outdoors with a warm breeze and the xx. and the burning roof of the coachella stage.

Good point, however if you have had the joy of seeing them inside (United Palace NYC fall 2010) it is a great experience. But I'll take Foals anyplace. I'm just sooo happy they are on the bill.

I see them at one of the outdoor stages during the day. I can picture that so easily. I can actually hear it right now. Like I'm there.

Every song I listen to of theirs it has a little something new and different. I cannot wait for their performance at Coachella especially with the feedback from everyone on this thread saying they throw it down live.

Couldn't disagree more...I think for bands just coming up like Foals, playing during the day is a huge advantage, despite all the too cool for school johnny come lately's who'll miss the set...much rather play to a packed tent in the afternoon than go up against two or three more well-known monster acts at 8 or 9 pm.

I'm hoping they go on in Mojave no later than 4pm...Friday's got my most conflicts, but Saturday's got my most devastating potential conflicts...Foals, Elbow, Broken Social Scene, Tallest Man on Earth, New Pornographers, Big Audio Dynamite, Phospherescent, Bright Eyes, Wire are all first time opportunities for me...so I'm all for some of these bands going way early.

Don't rule out possibility of Foals on mainstage early either

They deserved to be on the main stage. The stage they were at was overflowing with fans. The music was terrific, but just way too many people and they used up every inch of shade. Next time around, increase their font size, please!

Anyone remember the lead in to one of the songs where the drummer was hitting his sticks to keep the rhythm and the crowd start clapping along to him? And then he smiled at the crowd. It's those type of moments that makes Coachella for me.

I feel like Foals asked the crowd to clap along quite a bit.

Foals was one of my best finds of the festival, they kind of remind me of My Morning Jacket, great intensity and the dude's voice is awesome. Really drew me in, one of the few full sets I saw on Saturday and worth every second.

Several friends strongly recommended their set, so I did my best to get a good location. We ended up exactly in front of Yannis Philippakis the last time he jumped onto the crowd. In all, FOALS are very lively and interact amazingly well with the crowd.

So... it's safe to say that I may have been wasted this day. I meant to be in the Gobi when at this time, to see Tallest Man. I got in there, and started listening, and ended up staying for the whole show (yeah, I wondered why they were fifteen fucking minutes late haha). It didn't seem too packed in, to me. Crowded, sure, but not packed in. Nice show. I hope the guy spazzing out isn't me dancing that's being referred to =\ Wouldn't surprise me though... haha

Can we get these guys back, please? Can we just get them every year? Can you all please do a late night variety show hosted by Paul Tollett with Foals as the house band?
