You're tripping, there's no way Kanye doesn't headline.

Yes, he is, in fact, tripping.

Yes but Kanye and The Strokes are little more well known then Portished and Kraftwek. Not better but bigger

Slash is playing in Latin america on his solo tour up until a week before Coachella.

I also dont' get the impression that GV have spent all their talent budget. KW/KOL/AF together would be less than it cost to get either Paul or Prince.

I also think it's Friday that needs help.

I also think it's Friday that needs help.

Oddly enough for me Friday seems to be the most packed day with who I want to see.

Magnetic Man
Chemical Brothers
Interpol
Sasha
Boyz Noise
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

Yeah Friday is looking pretty good lol.

I think Friday is the most slack day for me. Saturday and Sunday are packed. Anticipating some hard decisions on Sunday between PJ Harvey, Duran Duran and the Presets if there is a conflict.

I'm confused as this will be my second Coachellla and it wasn't until late-February that I started looking into last years. How common is it that bigger acts are added after the lineup is released?

Since when did this rationalization have to do with how Coachella books....Oh I stand corrected THIS YEAR!!!!

Yes undoubtedly.

I would say "somewhat common."

Prince was a late add. Madonna was a late add one year. Kanye West was a late add one year.

It happens.

Kanye West is fucking huge. The Strokes have headlined all sorts of shit. There's absolutely no reason to assume they are not headlining.

Right. Now who actually closed the Main Stage on Saturday? Neither of those two . . .

EDIT: I do, however, believe that Kanye and the Strokes are popular enough to headline. I just hope they don't.

At this point I'm sitting it out, but maybe I'll change my mind later. I'm hoping I find some gems in here or that the bands I do know release some really good albums very soon.

This is foolish reasoning.

Kanye's ego is too big to perform if he isn't headlining.

Sounds expensive.

Kanye's ego is too big to perform if he isn't headlining.

Well, I'd say that he's clearly already CO-headlining casts a little doubt on that.

Why, it seems like every third one of those acts is back this year.

Saturday has the smallest headliner. If there's going to be a bump, it's on Saturday.

By the way, there won't be a bump.

An add would be great, but I'm not counting on it. I wouldn't let the fact that Sunday is the most stacked day get in the way of the idea of someone being added. Lets all remember that Prince was added to headline over Portishead, when Friday was clearly the weaker day that year.

The only thing that is truly suspicious about this is the sharing of the headliner line. If Kanye had been on it all by himself then fine, that would just be the end of it. But why share the line with somebody? It does have a slight echo of 2008.

Now this by no means guarantees shit. PT said himself that he only did that in 2008 because he was still in negotiations with Prince and didn't want to hold up the lineup any longer. I don't know... I figure there is a slight chance will get a fairly major add. I wouldn't hold my breath on it though.

Good point. I think most would agree Jack Johnson was the smallest and least-exciting headliner, even wit Portishead there. And I agree that even though Arcade Fire is my #1 act of the weekend right now, if someone is getting bumped it's them. Mostly because I don't think they have such a big ego like KoL or Kanye that they would bitch about not headlining. If Daft played it would most likely be after Arcade Fire.

But I also agree that it's likely nobody is getting bumped. Oh well, I'm happy enough with the lineup that I don't really need anyone.
